Sketchy ayahuasca people
    #17753002 -

So I've looked around for something, and found someone who gave me a referral.
This guy says how he wants to know my life story and reasoning behind seeking it.
Then he asks me if I'm married, have children and such. Suuper scary.
Then he says, 200 bux, "credit card or whatever", and "anyone can afford that, it's nothing for the people who seek this".

My fellow readers, am I that far gone or does this sound super sketchy, all this guy cares about is selling his product, and feeds me on "it'll be profound, and personal" he'll personally guide me through it with his buddy shaman from Peru, grew up in US and says, "trust me he visited Peru and learned from the best"

What! I have a reverence for mushrooms and the sacred spice, these things should be free if not exchanged for a coffee and conversation..  this guy wants me to shell out 200 beans for a "sacred ceremony", for something that costs a fraction of that to make. A kilo moves for 120+ mimosa and because I seek my first experience it has to run so much? Man what do you guys think? Am I overreacting here?

People with the sole purpose to cheat people with ethnobotanicals for profit suck!

I would be very careful exposing yourself to certain people in such a state. Im sure a shaman might want some backround info before administering the medicine, but it very well could be some creeper. Save your money and actually travel to the amazon. Look into trusted and respected shamans.

Dont want some funky ass jungle man placing curses on you and shit while your seeking.....whatever your seeking

Sounds sketchy and not something I'd feel comfortable going into. I mean, you will be tripping with this guy. Have you met him?

$200 and he'll ass-rape you while you're mind-fucked.  I'd pass.  You could easily buy the right ingredients for over 10 trips with that kind of money.  Brew your own, brother.

pass its not going to be a good experience under those conditions and with people like that. theres a similar thing here. theres a "native american" "shaman" from mexico ( he is actually a regular guy from colombia and not indian from any country) that has ayahuasca ceremonies( he just plays maracas and guitar while you trip) and gives you watered down see through ayahuasca for a mandatory 90 donation.

he also doesnt tell people about the diet that should be taken the days prior and after the experience or how they should not take ayahuasca if they are on medication he literally just wants your money and he makes alot he is always buying fancy fucking clothes and traveling the world. that is his only job and the people that go there see him as god and that he needs the money to travel the world to spread the knowledge ( he goes on vacations only i have him on facebook so i cann see what he does. he is also a facebook whore and materialistic)

a friend went there just to see the ceremony and was forced to take the ayahuasca ( it was that or sit in the street until morning) and the ayahuasca was so intense that ....  it was cool looking at a tree because it looked brighter. that same friend also started taking medication that would have a severe reaction with maoi shortly after ( for an unrelated issue) but they failed to mention about drug interactions so it could have been dangerous for him to have gone a few weeks later than he did

in short these people are shady as fuck and to me they are just as bad if not worse than people selling RCs off as other drugs. they only care about the money ( this shaman doesnt even fucking trip and the kids who go to him dont even know what a shaman is supposed to be they think its just a guy that gives you ayahuasca)

get the products yourself and make it because in the end the best guide is your mind that is the best way to do it. you have to think that all the real shamans probably started on their own and through their use learned how to work with the substance and use it to help others its not something that can be taught

look up maria sabina she started eating mushrooms when she was 7 years old!

It's a scam. You're going to lose your money and have nothing to show for it.

I got a similar "offer" through some artsy type people I was hanging out with last year so I like you asked "How much?"

$250 for some ayahuasca from some old fat white lady from a Southern state that was being flown in by some local group. I would have had to have been vetted too. Yea... passed on that one.

I was told I could attend the talk the night before for free, but I was busy. I kind of wish I hadn't been so that I could have heard what this so-called "shaman" had to say and what sort of terrible pharmacological/botanical errors/misinformation she was spreading.

Some accounts of similar stuff and some terrible factual errors:

"All the real shamans" are taught.

to some extent most of their knowledge comes from personal experience you just cannot teach someone to tap into the spirit world they have to do it themselves.

and to the op why not make your own ayahuasca?

I'm sure all the real shamans are taught the methods of brewing and how to make the best brew, that's the kind of thing that is best learned by passing on knowledge, but the spiritual/metaphysical tourguide aspect of shamanism something that one can only learn through direct experience with the vine, in that sense the vine is everyone's teacher.

exactly that is what i meant by it. here people think that a shaman is just someone that tripped and gives out ayahuasca to everyone for money ( thats what i call a drug dealer) and everyone here pays to be taught how to be a shaman by this guy. he is scamming so many people. his ayahuasca is not even as strong as one of my blotters.
