What the fuck is up with that?

Why does every stoner with an maoi and DMT think he is a shaman and can lead a "ceremony"? Some of these fucks even have the audacity to charge money for their half-assed fakeahuasca ceremonies. Ive seen several people take up this kind of practice in the last few years and it boggles my mind where they get the authority to do such things.

It pisses me off because it undermines what real shamans do for their communities and the traditions surrounding these plants. Why do people feel they have the right to appropriate other culture's practices and traditions? Have Americans become so insensitive to culture and to the wisdom of plant teachers that we just blindly jump into something as idiotic as a faux ceremony with dangerous hallucinogens?

I don't have one.  I'm not defective.  That's why I don't go about making sophomoric attempts to make myself feel like some unique little special person.  All your "lol imma shamann guiz" is truly no different than "lol imma vampire guiz".  YOU may think it is, but everyone else fucking sees no difference.  The discrepancy is not because you have some sort of special insight, the discrepancy is because you're blind.


Modern shamans are just trying to fucking rebel against "The Institution", that being the society they live in, by trying to adopt crazy shit from other cultures and claiming it, and not widely-held and popular belief systems, somehow is better.  See also:  Wicca.  Note Wicca, not Wiccan_Seeker, I don't recommend ANYBODY see him.  It's all just an effort to be different for the sake of being different.  "I need to fit in somewhere, but I don't like these chowderheads that are all over the place, I'll just find some strange little clique that the masses don't really like and just slip myself right in with them!"

anyways i do think that all of this new age shamanism is dangerous and misguided most likely for the most part.

please dont discount the possibility of some true to the teachers modern shamans existing that have and are always learning all they can about the healing that is possible.

swim used to guide people on dmt but never had any strange ceremonies, just helped them with their breathing and tried to show them a good time. the only ceremony was setting good vibes by talking for a few hours beforehand and basically relaxing.

if some douchenugget hipster tried to get me to participate in his "ceremony," i would forget i ever met him because he's just spun out on his own ego.

swim sells dimitri now i figure if people know about it and wanna try it why should i just keep giving it away. all these entitled secret rules of dmt are just man made bullshit and while i wouldn't partake in these neoshamanic hogwash "ceremonies" i fully support these assholes in what they're doing -

the way i look at it, if it opens someone up to a new way of thinking it can't be all bad, but people need to realize the drug is an entity on its own and while it's energy can be guided, it is quite powerful and doesn't really need "shamans" to explain it's effects, since it does it so well by just pummeling you with hyperdimensional zero point energy awareness.
