I heard it was long and typical. Another "original" taratino film where he drills in to the audience that he's just oh so unique.

Haven't seen it myself so I can't say...

I have to say that I was pretty impressed, one thing about Tarantino that I
appreciate is how he always managed to incorporate a lot of his influences into
his work, of course those influences are from my youth as well  so I spot the
stuff pretty easily

To be perfectly honest, it was a great film during the high moments, but there were WAY too many long and drawn out parts of like 10 minutes or longer with no action and really just filler.
I mean I guess if you were really into it you'd notice every little detail...
Overall a decent movie, but I thought it was really boring in a lot of places, needed more music( the music was great) and well,
I was sort of shocked at the humor of some people.. I mean I know it's a movie, but damn, I bet they wouldn't be laughing so hard if they were the only white person in the theater  lol

I give it a 7.9/10

I liked the focus on gunmanship and sharpshooting, though.

IMO it was everything but typical and if QT tries to show off his "unique" skills as you say then so what? What matters is what you get from the movie and your experience and i had a great experience

Very interesting... ( SPOILER ALERT AHEAD)

I did like the light the movie shed on how ignorant and wrong the slave owners were...

ALso, they exposed some real shit like the man getting torn apart by the dog or ordered to bash the guys skull in with a hammer, or just how much a human WAS treated like a piece of property or shit, etc.

THe part where what's his name is wearing the blue suit is great
" You a free nigga and CHOSE to wear that shit?"
lol priceless

ALso,
"GET THE SHERRIF" n" not the marshall"

I just found that dr. Sholtz really captured me from the beginning. I was interested during his whole intro which I think lasted from the meeting to the first shooting where he introduces his actual lifestyle to Django. Assuming this was partially the work of QT.

But yeah - captivated from the beginning... Something most of these trash movies of today blow dick at. That or I've been taking too much Cid :cookiemonster:

Interesting, funny in the article I read about that it was supposedly amazing that he didn't break character over his cut. Well at least he isn't a drama queen

For some reason I want to watch Catch Me If You Can agian.

I would tend to agree it could have used some editing. I had moments where I just wasn't interested, and it just rolled on. 2 hours and 45 minutes was just a little long.
At least I got to pause it.

when I saw it it was pretty apparent by the look on his face, I think he was
shocked by it but he ran with it and that's something that really speaks
well for the actor

Just watched that scene again and he does do a great job using his hand afterwords, especially when he smears on that ladies face.
