their all awesome. i like them each for different reasons and which one i wanna watch depends on my mood, but reservior dogs is definately one i watch a lil more than some others.

i watch all of his movies on a regular basis though, ive seen django unchained about 30-40 times and its relatively new. thats been my favorite lately

have to watch Reservoir Dogs again, can't remember anything from it.

from what i can remember my favorite would have to be Django.  next is a tie between Inglorious Bastards and Pulp Fiction.

True Romance was great, but i didn't get as much feeling/atmosphere from it.

Django unchained show a hitlist with a name of a distant relative of christopher walken's character in pulp fiction.
Kill bill is either the show that beat uma thurmans pilot described in pulp fiction or its the actual show.
Resevoir dogs, the psycho guy who cuts off he cops ear is john travoltas cousin from pulp fiction.
Uhhh... i'm drawing blanks there's a lot more examples
Red apple cigarettes are in almost all of them.
I think the sword in pulp fiction might've been from kill bill, and in kill bill the one guy said he pawned the sword off.

Sorry for the vagueness it's hard to watch all the movies in a sequential order and not get details from each one mixed up. I practically see kill bill1&2,pulp fiction and resevoir dogs all as different parts of the same movie anymore.

And machete is uncle machete from spy kids within the same universe. Danny trejo said in an interview machete is what he does in his free time. The boy spy kid is actually shown grown up in machete towards the end, he's the kid who pulls the tarp off of the motorcycle after the put the gatlin gun on it.

I wish i remembered exactly what my friend said but there's an obscene amount of trejo movies with his name being machete and having some relation with the director. Its a relationship comparable to ben stiller and owen wilson.

it was a low budget independent movie, dude. that's why it's good. because it managed be good in meager standing in comparison to bunch of stuff that probably wasn't as good but still got praised anyways.

Maybe either Shogun Assassin or Battle Royale. He didn't actually arrange for US distribution, but they heavily influenced his film making and he sparked renewed interest in both films among US audiences. If you haven't seen them yet, do yourself a solid...

Favorite Tarantino film is Pulp Fiction.

It's not a Tarantino movie but anyone that likes his style, especially like in Kill Bill, should watch The Machine Girl.

In order:

Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill Vol. 2 and Kill Bill Vol. 1
Inglourious Basterds

Though I have to say, I hate having to pick a favorite. I could easily have a Tarantino film marathon.

Django Unchained
Reservoir Dogs
Jackie Brown

Pulp Fiction takes it every time just due to the sheer number of badass motherfucking quotes.

I don't know. In terms of "worst", Hostel I and II may fit that bill just a bit better. Jackie Brown at least has "yeah, I'll watch that again" potential.

I don't know. In terms of "worst", Hostel I and II may fit that bill just a bit better. Jackie Brown at least has "yeah, I'll watch that again" potential.

?? Tarantino made hostel?

My favorite is either Dogs or Fiction.
Kill Bill was garbage,
I hate Grindhouse overall
Tarantino does with grindhouse the same thing Adam Sandler
does with his shitty comedies.
he produces them  because everybody goes sees  them mainly because of names involved and the movies are really shitty.

Overall I think Tarantino is a great director, yet terribly overrated.
He is treated as this cinematic god when all his movies are are intelligently written action movies. He has no range at all, imo. If he ever starts direction sci-fi, horror, or drama then he has the ability to rise up, but for now I consider him to be one of the best guys in action...maybe the BEST. He will never be as good as Gilliam, Scorcese, Kubrick etc if all he does is reimagine 70's blaxploitation and a hodge podge of pop culture.

i found pulp fiction and reservoir dogs pretty boring, maybe cause all i had ever heard was hype, wouldn't watch them again.

kill bill and inglorious bastards  were entertaining, my fav being the latter.

I think I like Django mostly because Christoph Waltz is awesome.

Resevoir Dogs was excellent and I really like the tension in some of the scenes from Inglorious Basterds.

agreed^

the acting and the character interactions in both were awesome.

Django was still like a grindhouse flick but with less bombasity and more fancy costuming and camera work.

and too long and too fuckin' boring. the end was good, and it was worth it seeing it, but not a movie that is as good for a repeat experience as virtually any other one of his movies.

this is however, just my opinion.

Resevoir Dogs
Plup Fiction
Jackie Brown
True Romance
Four rooms

His new films are good but I like the oldies. The sound tracks in his older films are amazing . Super sounds of the 70s

This. Mainly the first part.

I've wondered how different True Romance might look if he directed it as well.

Awesome, awesome fucking movie though. Oldman was awesome in that. Then again, everyone was awesome in that.

"You're a cantaloupe!"  (Tell me that wasn't one of the best scenes / monologues ever? You can't do it. Not without lying.)

Reservoir Dogs is pretty fantastic, though. And let's be honest here-- Pulp Fiction was fucking epic, even if it was over-hyped / commercialized.

I've also always really loved Four Rooms, and in my mind I tend to lump it in with Tarantino films, even if he did only write / direct  1/4 of the film.

Kill Bill Vol: 1 was my favorite.
Pulp Fiction is slightly overrated. It's a great movie, but I think Kill Bill>Pulp Fiction, even as good as PF is.
Inglorious bastards was very similar to django in my opinion but I liked it more than django.
Death Proof, despite Tarantino saying it was his least favorite movie, is actually one of my favorites. Hey, it was more interesting than Jackie Brown in my opinion.

Reservoir Dogs is close, so is Inglorious Bastards and Djagno..
And Kill Bill 1 and 2... and death proof and jackie brown(my 2 least favs)

Tarantino is the best director ever, yet.. he wants to stop directing :frown:

I like some of the performances (Robert De Niro) however I thought it was much weaker since he didn't write it. Jackie just wasn't a character that I cared much for.

wtf

Travolta from Pulp is Mr Blonde's (reservoir dogs) brother.  He planned on making a prequel to all the movies about the Vega Bros.

Kill Bill is NOT the show Mia Wallace starred in. Tarantino has 2 separate universes, the actual universe (Pulp Fiction, Res Dogs, Iglorious Bastards etc) while the Kill Bill movies along with Jackie Brown are in the movie movie universe which are movies that people from the other universe like Vince Vega or Mr Pink would go to the movies to see.

I have to disagree. It's not his best-- but it was still a good movie. Just a little different from the rest of his stuff.

The book it was based on (by Elmore Leondard, I believe) was pretty good.

But IMHO the thing Tarantino does best is dialogue. And having re-written the story for the screen, Tarantino's dialogue magick still shines through.

Res dogs sucks....  I mean the way he builds tension and the acting is very much top notch but it's a B-movie with 80% of the dialogue taking place in an abandoned warehouse....  it doesnt even compare to Pulp or Bastards, same universe maybe but from different superclusters to be sure

He had no money to make that film.

That is why it all takes place in a warehouse.

Amazing, for what he had to work with. Absolutely amazing.

You can't compare Resivoire Dogs to his other films, and blame its budget. For what it was, it was one of the best.

yeah-- that was a real good movie for acting and dialog, and I suppose that's what's so refreshing about it.  The plot does not rely on explosions and stunts and CGI to drive the story along.  There's just one scene with action and the rest of the movie is 100% grade A acting

res dogs doesn't suck at all.  but it's still mot my fav Tarantino film
