Very engineuative(spelling ? ) DAWG ! How long have you been running this setup ? Any contam problems as of yet ? Must you set it up new after each island is spent ? Or can you replace with new media after removing old , right away ? After time I would imagine that tubing failing due to salt deposits . Very interesting ............

Myco, I hope you enjoy, would like to see a pic Trip, Thank You. My Dawg has had no contam problems with this setup. He also states that there is minimum upkeep involved unless you let them drop tons of spores. Tubing can be cleaned quite a few times before needing replacement. This is accomplished by drawing up bleach solution into a syringe and injecting it into the length of the tubing. Leave to soak , and the soultion will drain out of your holes. Then put the line in some fresh water and bubble it for an hour to remove excess solution. When it's time to clean the tubing, go ahead and zap your perlite in the micro for two 10 minute sessions.

Nice1 I rikey! Why not add more perlite to take full advantage of it wicking capability? Seems like it's floating, covered mostly in water, which I figure means it's not wicking THAT much humidity into the air. Nice tek still, thanks for your hard work and contribution.

my friends jfi chambers perlite isnt soupy or anything, ive just noticed that compared to the standard fan/mist terrium it has alot less condensation on the walls. I cant give an honest answer if this is a problem or not because my friend just put his casing in the tank. Anyone else built one of this?

Does this pump setup make it unecessary to fan and mist? Does it provide enough CO2 transfer to be considered automated? If so, I'm going out and building this right now. I've been trying to find a way to automate my casing terrarium without having to use fanning or a coolmist. Hope this gets put up on the FAQ!

so can you answer my question then about the humidity build up? does enought build up to be seen on the walls and lid or does the setup keep everything aired out nicely so that the humidity is just in the air?

the water "build up" on the walls, is because the wall's temp is < the dew point of the inside air, it doesnt have to do with the humidity being "just in the air".
