sweet pup!  just got my pup today too!  he has the same problem!  i cant leave him alone!  if he isnt sleeping and i move more than 5 ft away he starts going nuts!

Out of curiosity, are there any laws against vaccinating yourself?
I've had and vaccinated horses myself at times(it really is so much cheaper than bringing a vet out, especially because we vaccinate in both the spring and fall), but I think there were some laws in certain states prohibiting vaccinating against rabies yourself.
I've always brought my dogs to the vet though.

yea "billy bad ass"!  haha!  and yep he is full blooded pit..  the parents were both pretty big..  the dad is about 90lbs..  only thing is he is not papered.  his mom was a red nose with a white coat and black spots here and there and the dad is a full blue nose colby.  i have such a hard time like you said!  i just need him to get big enough to use a doggy door and i will install one in the wall for him to use!  they just seem to live much more relaxed when they can go in and out as they please..  plus its alot easier when you dont gotta worry about him  going bathroom everywhere..

Crazy color dogs tend to have health issues?  Is there evidence to this?  My dog had a pretty sweet Blue merle coat and looks fairly interesting.  Smartest dog I've ever known with zero health issues.

Edit: sorry may have misunderstood your post, if you meant specifically Daschunds I cant speak for it.

i'm not sure but i know of a few nice colored dogs that do.  one is a beautiful brindle colored pit and he has a coat like a tiger.  he was born with some disorder which caused both of his eyes to have problems and eventually they had to be removed..  he is such a nice dog and so smart even though he is now blind..

I actually only pick him up like that once every month or two, just to weigh him on my Wii. He was staying perfectly still, that day, and just seemed content to chill in my arms. We stood like that for a good minute.
