I thought you were opposed to police presence because they're a gang of bloodthirsty killers that like to abuse power and shit. you seem like many others around here that say they hate cops, you're all for instituting a police state for the well being of the children regardless of how much money it wastes on an event that others are claiming to be so very rare
so what happens of this cop is out getting lunch, maybe he's taking a shit, maybe he's in the girl's locker room at the gym getting some dome from the cheer leading coach or maybe even a student. what stops the shooter from doing his thing, what stops him from just shooting the cop as he walks in the door and the cop is asking stupid questions?

ok, so we dont give them guns, they can carry the ones they already own
Okay then, i was facepalming allowing teachers (or anyone for that matter) to carry any gun on campus.
why exactly would that be. we're supposed to trust them with the safety and well being of our children arent we? so why dont we begin to trust them with the safety portion.
what solution would you suggest to deal with this 'epidemic' of people shooting up the schools? maybe we could put up a few signs that say school shootings aren't allowed
Well, you may trust them with the safety of our children, but if i had kids i wouldn't really trust anyone to protect them aside from me. I guess you dont have much of a choice though if you want your kids to get an education. Its also not an epidemic, school shootings happen all the time. The media would sure like you to believe its an epidemic though so they can get the general public to get behind taking away guns. I think an one or two armed school sheriffs would be fine to protect the school, they are at least trained.

Oh your wording and phrasing is so clever.
hehehe he said "you say the cutest things" to imply im childish and don't know what i'm talking about and the pulitzer goes to......luvdemshrooms for his enthralling posting style, and his, some would say childish bravado of refusing to cede any ground on internet forums.

Two sheriffs then, possibly three all in different parts of the building. I am also opposed to police brutality, not police, but you asked me what i would suggest to deal with the 'epidemic' of school shootings.

Because (other than the roughly 120,000 schools that don't have a cop in them) all states, cities and towns do the same.

Fire is Born said: A teacher with a gun has a chance to go nuts themselves. A teacher with a gun automatically may set a bad image of what we should be in children's eyes. A teacher with a gun can also be paranoid like so many other Americans. A teacher with a gun can miss and hit kids. As for my hating...I have my reasons
1)If they are going to go nuts, they are going to go nuts with or without gun control laws. Better not to punish law-abiding citizens in an attempt to control the nut-jobs.
2) Who the fuck are you or anyone else to decide what is a 'bad image?' that is the parents job.
3) Paranoid? Seems like the ones that are paranoid are the ones that want to keep sane, honest citizens from owning guns.
4) I'll take a chance with an armed teacher missing and hitting kids rather than an unarmed teacher standing by helplessly while the class gets gunned down.
