Guns are the most heavily regulated consumer product in the United States.
More regulation would have stopped this kid from stealing his moms guns and then using them to slaughter a couple dozen defenseless people?
Right.
Uh..yeah. In this country he would of only had a snap shotgun or bolt action rifle. It would have to be kept in a secure gun cabinet with no access to anyone but the owner and regulated to why the guns were needed. If good excuses and clear use was not demonstrated they would be taken.

You figured out people are violent...well done. Now, can you see why a violent person with a knife isn't as bad as a violent person with a gun?I think the early 90's shooting I referenced is what you are talking about as well. Primary school in Scotland. Gun crime rise is in the bad areas of cities. Brought in on the black market. A problem that needs to be dealt with. Still harder to get hold of though. Yeah so the answer to that was to introduce regulation which states that if you don't use your guns they are taken. Thus this would of prevented this problem, a law already used in Ireland. We wouldnt of decided all people needed to be armed in future to protect themselves

School shootings happen because of shit like this, this belief that shooting people is the answer to every problem, and you wanna stamp out that psychosis by building upon the root cause? Ok.
If the teachers conceal carry, the students don't see a gun. What's wrong with seeing a gun everyday anyway?

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I know enough people that have guns and carry around knives on them. They are scared of getting into a confrontation even if one isn't present. That or they are just fucking nuts and are willing to kill the first person that fucks with them. Those people are assholes and not most gun owners. You are happy living in your non-liberal area, whatever. I'd rather chill in the NYC area going out and actually doing shit rather than huff gas and ride goats. I have a lot of issues with liberals, but I have a lot more with assholes that preach small government on one hand, then ask for stricter drug laws, more religion in politics, less gay rights welfare to Israel, bigger military, then go on to support armed conflicts with whoever the fuck we are fighting at the time.

not sure where you're going with the liberal guy but I dont preach stricter laws because laws are laws, sentencing is where the strictness comes into play. Myself, I'm all about the repeal of all drug laws, I support the rights of gay people to get married and have babies and even have butt sex and blow jobs, I detest wars and have never supported any but it's not like you'd know that since you're all about the troll and not the discussion and anyone that concerns themselves with actually giving a fuck about religion is living a really sad existence

Police officers who have gone through training with their weapons routinely shoot and miss during emergencies. There was the NYC incident within this past year where it seems most of the shots fired by police hit innocent bystanders, and I'm sure there are many other examples like this. But I'm sure the average gun-owning schoolteacher will be better in a similar emergency. While I doubt that would be the case, maybe they would. Who knows? I personally don't like the idea of teachers and administrators walking around the school hallways with guns and I wouldn't teach in a school where my coworkers were carrying guns, but as you can see from this article there are many who disagree with me.
http://www.officer.com/news/10844887/texas-town-allows-teachers-to-carry-guns
And I think I read someone saying something about certain Texas towns where there are no shootings because the teachers can carry guns, but that is a huge stretch to make that claim. Most schools can claim that they have no school shootings, not just the small number of schools that allow teachers to carry guns. Tragedies like the one in CT are very rare. While we as a nation shouldn't just ignore the issue, we also shouldn't rush to make new laws or change existing ones. There needs to be a discussion about what can be done to make schools safer, but arming the educators of America seems a bit extreme, to say the least.
