GH Greenhouse fruiting, FAE/RH questions
    #17412466 -

I realize most of you grow cubes, but figured I'd give this a shot. I'm pleased to see such a multitude of pins on my first oyster attempt. Pictured are 3/6 straw logs (supplemented).

I began with just a 5 gallon bucket + fogger + 4" induct fan 2 hoses which feed into the top of the GH, and this runs 24/7. I later came to find this would be insufficient for the FAE needs of Oysters. So I added an ultrasonic at the bottom shelf aiming mist back and up along the back wall away from direct air flow with logs. A small HEPA filter set on low (which is quite strong) is placed directly behind the US to blow that humidity upward plus provide that much needed FAE. The flap to the GH is open so that the air intake of the HEPA is pulling in new outside air. Several large slits are on the roof the GH to keep a steady air flow. With all the FAE, the humidifiers are running quite often.

Once the bags were colonized I took the bag completely off (too many pins without openings to peek through)

RH is maintained by a Hygrotherm set at 89%. When it reaches 89 it turns off for about 5 minutes, dries out a bit and then kicks on again so there's a moderate rise and fall. Ambient temp fluctuates anywhere from 60-70.

MY QUESTION: As long as I can provide necessary RH, should I crank up my HEPA and get as much FAE as possible? Or would I risk drying out the logs? Is it possible to give too much FAE given enough RH can be provided balance?

Sorry for the long post, but I would very much appreciate some guidance, suggestions, so please let me know if I'm doing something unwisely. Thank you fellow mushroom friends

-Elkart

Straight from Stamets himself

(4-8 FAE exchanges per hour). So... I just need to figure out how quickly my GH can be REPLACED with new fresh air, correct? And this will determine how many minutes to set my intervals. Am I getting this right?

You should be good if your fans run 24/7 for FAE and your ultrasonic kicks on to keep the RH up
You should make sure you can feel a nice breeze inside.
Just make sure that you leave the door unzipped a bit at the bottom.

THANK YOU. It is indeed unzipped partially. I've been programming my digital timer to go off 10 minutes every 4 hours (making that a total of 6 FAE per hour. Perhaps this is too little. Frank, do you think I should let it go 24/7 or at intervals?? Much gratitude!
