garageband and Windows?

#17340191 - 12/05/12 08:38 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

Hi,

I want to collaborate making music with a couple friends who are out of town. One has a Mac, the other has a Windows PC. I was thinking we could use garageband, but apparently it doesn't exist for Windows.

Is there any similar software that can be used by Mac and Windows machines? How about any garageband type software fro Windows, regardless of corss-platform use?

Please note that this will be rock music - we don't need any loops or looping capabilities, or any other fancy features - just some e.q. and mixing. Basically I'm looking for the equivalent of my old Tascam 4 track machine on the computer(s).

Could we swap mp3's? Instead of garageband project files?

Thanks y'all!

HI,

Yes, I just downloaded it and installed it. I hit the record button and recorded myself speaking. So far so good. Saturday I'm going to look at a cheap small drum set for sale. Yeah!

Thank you open source community! (for Audacity)
