I think it would sell better there than in the Blue states of Obamamerica.

Peameal is the shit. Also I would like to point out that a good poutine has gravy, cheese, pulled pork and bacon. Moose is fucking delicious too.

Idk Canadians don't really have a cuisine other than poutine and beer. Its not really a restaurant per-se but isn't Tim Horton's in USA now?

I've never had poutine with pulled pork, it's good with ground beef though. I hate restaurants that make it with that shitty fake beef gravy, chicken gravy kicks ass.

Just looked up what peameal is. Same concept as farofa in Brazil sans the bits of pork in it. Delicious stuff when accompanied by a nice rare steak.

Ground beef? Blasphemy. Pulled pork poutine is amazing. Its gone now but in OS there used to be a poutine restaurant and he made all kind of different poutines. He even made me a sweet potatoes poutine once because he wanted to see if it should go on the menu and I went there every day. He even had a challenge that was 7lbs of poutine. I got high as fuck and ate the whole damn thing.

Fun Fact: You can't even get the right kind of cheese for poutine in The U.S.A..

Tried a poutine once at a place in the PNW border with Canada made with oysters, mussels, and shrimp. Using a shellfish based gravy. Probably not traditional poutine, but amazing nonetheless.

It's supposed to be less than a day old, which means they would have to make it in the store.

Do you buy your cheese direct from the factory? We used to have a place liek that here, but it closed down several years ago. I've thought about making some myself.

there's a chain of eateries in the atlanta area, between casual dining like
chili's and fine dining establishments, they sell poutine under the name of
disco fries. not what a lot of places call disco fries, this is cheese curds
that are slightly melted but still mostly firm, most places selling shit
called disco fries is just cheese fries with the canned cheddar

Poutine is best with a mix of mozza, cheddar, and curds. And not just on top it has to be layers like doing a nacho plate. Listen to the Canadian, folks.

99% of the places in canada arent getting it that fresh, if I want it that
fresh I'm in farm country and I have a few sources

I've made cheese a few times, not the difficult, if you want it blocked or in
a wheel then you need to make a cheese press, pretty easy to do with some PVC
and a few long bolts

Not that I'm a poutine connoisseur, but I had some banging ass poutine with just curds. It was also with fresh fried potatoes and fresh turkey gravy, though, so it's hard to fuck something like that up.

i'm from the pa/ny/nj area and i've never heard it called poutine

or mixed cheese with gravy

it's either mushrooms and gravy and fries

or cheese fries and never curds, like cheddar or something.

That's what makes poutine poutine.

With the curds mixed all through, it's awesome. They get melty on the outside, but stay kinda solid in the middle

:zombiedrool:

Cheese/gravy fries I've heard referred to as, "disco fries". I'm originally from PA myself.
