ISP Restriction
    #17218584 -

So I just got my internet restricted because of a download that consisted of Copyright Infringement.

My ISP restricted my access to the internet.  I had to call them and they had to take it off.

You get 9 "strikes" before they lock out your account for 6 months.

She said they just started monitoring it heavily within the past few weeks and they have their own department that watches customers internet traffic.

Would TOR be a good way around this?

and if not, get ready boys, this internet censorship is coming.

Who is your ISP? Are you in America?

Yup, USENET Binaries specifically.  Do you know the ins and outs of Usenet file sharing?

But it's nothing like torrenting truthfully.  With torrents you get to search and download specific files.  With Usenet you can only really download what has been posted and is still currently available from whichever Usenet Service you are using.

This is going to get worse, and I blame this administration.

No I know nothing about it man, but i'm not going to start paying for movies and music because i got spanked by suddenlink.

Could you be post or pm me some info on using it?  i'd really appreciate it.  Suddenlink has a grip on the area as being the only ISP.

She said it was an order from the FBI to start doing this, and that a lot of customers are already at Level 3 of 9.

She also told me she had to block the access of a bunch of customers already that day ha.

The girl on the phone was maddd cool though, when she told me it was Wilfred that got reported, I asked her if she had ever seen it, and she said "yea I love that show" lolol

Makes sense to me  The UN is also trying to tax US based servers as a Global internet tax, and we are doing nothing about it. Bend over people, no Vaseline here....

I mean, what CAN we do?

or is it an illusion that we have no power or control to change things?

Power lies in power. If that is numbers, sure. But it hasn't been for a long time, and with the way technology has progressed, its unlikely to ever really again.

peerblock

Comcast was giving me trouble so i just throw that on when access a tracker and I'm good to go.

They do complain about bandwidth usage occasionally but I have to literally be torrenting all month to get close to my providers limit

Usenet is great but costs money, worth it for finding older trackers and high quality rips

I'll have to check that out, and it's free, that's dope.

Ever since I moved and had to switch over to Suddenlink, i've never even heard of that happening.

Media Corporations getting in with Law enforcement, forcing Internet Providers to track their users to protect their profits  :shakingfist:

Virtual Private Networks dawg. From what I understand your ISP can see that
there's activity coming from your shit, but it's encrypted.
