hey there, anybody who has eaten and grown eq if you know what your talkin about please reply. i read somewhere i think that the best time to harvest eq's is right before the veil breaks because that is when the mushroom contains the most psilocybin because it is a fast maturer. is this true. if not when is the best time to harvest them. also are eq's pretty dank? peace

Harvest them when the veil is breaking/starts to break.
I don't know about them being markedly faster than other strains. But my faery godmother just harvested her first ever batch of EQs (and first ever batch of shrooms, period), and for the most part she got them after the veil started to break and before it was completely seperated.
Remember to let a few shrooms open up wide all the way, so you can take some prints and never be dependent on suppliers again!!
And yeah, they are kind of smelly especially when dessicating. I doubt this is specific to just EQ's, though.

Ah. Well, she ate between 20-25 fresh grams, and she got a low level trip. Although, it was her first flush of her first grow, and they were handled a lot. So she's sure they weren't as potent as they could be had they been grown by a pro and handled a lot less. She's about to eat 35-40 fresh grams tonight, I'll let you know how it goes

Lol I know what you mean by dank, Your from the east coast somewhere =). yeah they are dank as far as mushies go, for a cubensis anyways. The beauty is that they are so damn big and easy to fruit. It takes like... 5 days to get pins wich is nice. They are one of the more potent cubensis strains, but not the most potent.

My faery godmother just remembered... holding your nose while you eat/swallow something helps to avoid the taste ^_^ You should harvest them real fast and eat them now, my faery godmother is doing that as we speak

I read somewhere that you just can't grow, print, grow, print, grow, print and hope to be self sufficient for life. Some people say the strain will get weaker by over domesticating it and after the 3rd or 4th generation, they will start to fruit less until they don't even pin. Is that true? I don't know, this guy I know is still working with his purchased syringes and started to grow from second generation recently so he can't observe the deterioration yet. A good alternative is probably mycellium culture. .fs.

Interesting. That's a point, except that the vendors have to be getting their prints from somewhere, too. I suppose there are enough large-scale growers to supply virtually indefinite first-generation prints, but I guarantee they're not all like that. I can't imagine that's really true anyway, since I don't see how the mushrooms could survive in the wild if the spores deteriorated that much.
I'd say your best bet is to make a few prints and just re-use what you've got until you run out. Then find a large, healthy 2nd-generation cap and make a new print from that.
