Ultra music fest 2013 * 1

so UMF 2013 Is going to go two weekends, surrounding music week/WMF.

People left a shit storm of negative comments for making the thing two weekends, but I couldn't be happier.

Fair, but look online around the country when it gets closer to the dates; there are almost no famous DJ's in any club in any other city except Miami when this things going on. They are ALL at this thing.

but yeah way too expensive for me...id def go to UMF over EDC anyday of the week but UMF is so fucking expensive, bet the lineup will be insane

wish i could go but straight up i cant afford it, just one weekend there would probly cost me like 1500 dollars easy, cant do it

maybe in a couple years but until then ill stick with my summer camp out festivals which are better anyways

Ultra is for custys.  Shows end up at midnight and spend a fortune on hotels.  If I were in town, i would just do the club events for wmc.  Plus camping festivals destroy ultra... Unless you have a blowout and love fist pumping.  Jersey residence optional.  I can catch all these guys in denver for like 15/show.

ultra is expensive as hell and camp out festivals are better, but UMF always has a RIDUCULOUS lineup and theres sooooooooooo many tihngs to do that whole week

if u got the cash its a fucking madhouse

PLUS WMC makes it a rager, too bad the real fans cant afford it and only tools go to it, its like the super bowl and corporate sponsors and shit, the real fans cant go but the rich can


and i do have a serious problem buying tix to a festival where i havent seen a lineup yet, normally with UMF its not an issue but i hear with the 2 weekend thing they are gonna be spreading out the lineup and its not gonna be like how coachella had the same lineuip 2 weekends in a row last year


but for real every single major DJ will be in Miami those 2 weekends btwn 2 UMf's and WMC, every major DJ

and no AWP, you cannot see any of the DJs playing at 7 oclock for 15 dollars in CO, i call bullshit

I probably won't be able to afford it this year, but I'm thinking I'll go for 2014. I went to Tomorrowland this past summer and it was incredible!  Probably going to hit up Electric Zoo next year.

i shuda gone to Ezoo this year day 3 lineup was INSANE


but camp out festivals are immensely better than fests like edc and umf

they are cheaper, has cooler people, more legit drugs, dont get kicked out of the venue at 11 pm, dont have to worry about driving home spun, latenight sets, silent discos til 8 am...the only part that sucks is waking up at 8 am in a tent cuz its so fucking hot out and u dont really get to shower

just all around better for so many reasons

Noisia was $10 but they cancelled.

As I said, EDC and ultra are custy as fuck.  Camping festivals just straight up offer a better time.

sure, its all about the money in Miami, but don't let douche DJ's trick you into thinking its the festivals fault. The mouse didn't do UMF last year, but instead opted for his own show on the beach. The one night 2.5 hours set cost as much as an Ultra ticket. He played at Liv iirc; sure paris hilton might show up but the beers are $14 and guys arnt just allowed in... $2,000 for a bottle and you  might get 3 guys through the door.

Ultra is way more available to the fans at about $1,500 for the whole weekend (all in).

$1500 is just an INSANE amount of money for a smattering of 1 hour or less daytime DJ slots with $5 waters and insane police presence.  If it went all night, that might be reasonable but the shows end at fucking midnight and then you have to drop mad bills for the after parties IF you can get in.  I went to ultra in 06 and 09 and until the EDM "craze" dies down, I will not be back.  The vibes just fucking blow.

Like 10 of my friends already bought tickets for weekend 2.The lineup each year is insane each year...everyone is there. Like bassfreak said though, I would LOVE to go but it's just too much. My friends are getting a tricked out house for the week in south beach too. :mad2: :sad:

It's not that I don't spend tons of money on festivals and concerts but, I did Bisco and Starscape this year for less than the cost of a weekend ticket to Ultra. :lol:

:shrug:  It's a lot of big name guys but I don't see it as "insane."  A lot of the shit sounds the exact same as the stuff coming out of the late 90s.  Insane is the electric forest lineup this year.
