Only one playoff spot is still open (one in the NL). The AL still has two divisions undecided as the Rangers & Athletics battle it out (head to head no less) for the AL West, and the AL East is still also undecided (Yankees & Orioles). All those teams are still at least guaranteed the wild card game at worst.

IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY

Baltimore at Oakland (AL wildcard game)

Winner would get the Yankees

Detroit vs Texas would be the other AL series

St. Louis at Atlanta (NL wildcard game)

Winner would get Washington

San Francisco vs Cincinnati would be the other NL series

No problem mang!! Should be a fun postseason. I'm hyped. And there's still a lot to be decided. The A's can actually win the AL West if they win tonight & tomorrow...amazing when you think about it, considering the Rangers have held first place since like the 2nd week of the season.

Superfied drama unfolding out in the Bay Area.

The A's beat the Rangers tonight, and have now tied Texas for the AL West lead. On the last day of the season tomorrow they will decide the division.

The winner will avoid the one game playoff whereas the loser won't be so fortunate.

Gotta love it.

Go SF Giants: took me 48 years to see the first WS, see no harm in getting a second in 50 years of die hard rooting. About to end the Dodgers slim chances, which sweetens the deal irrespective of whether Cinci kicks our butts.

I dont remember the last time one of my teams won a world championship. Probably the 96 Cowboys. So I have been waiting a loooong time. Indians and Cavaliers flirted with a title but never won me one.

They're still in the playoffs so it doesn't quite match what the Red Sox did last year. Not quite. And to think they were ahead of the Yankees for best record just a few days ago.

that was a hell of a game! i use to be a big A's fan and started getting mad that they traded anyone good to the yanks and would sign an old washed up hitter for a season at a time...seems they did find a winning formula, im proud of that team
