a huge reason drugs are like this now is bc EDM is so fucking popular now


i mean i used tohave some real solid hookups but even those guys cant get awesome stuff on the reg anymore, and when they do, it goes FAST

the scene does suck

call me a hipster but it was sooooo much better like 3 or 4 years ago

I don't know I REALLY like Bassnectar, and his fans didn't always used to be a bunch of drunk frat kids and dumb asses on bath salts thinking it's molly.
The whole "Dollor Per Basshead" things a pretty great thing, Bassnectar has a great message and he's trying to do some really great stuff.
Not to mention he's talented as fuck.

I can't speak for the US, but here in the UK electronic dance culture is not what it used to be. It's become commercial, pure and simple. Anyone that knows anything knows that once something goes commerical, it turns to shit. Why? Because the world is populated by tards who don't know any better.

Just ignore Skrillex and his deluded, adolescant fan base. They arn't in it for the music. They're in it because it's 'cool', 'trendy', whatever word you want to use. They think the man invented dubstep ffs. They don't have a clue. Probably won't ever. They'll get bored of it eventually and move onto something else just as lame.

Just support the acts that are actually trying to make a decent impact, and don't even mention 'he who should not be named'. All these threads do is give the dick more attention.
We need to make threads that acknowledge the artists who actually have soul and taste. The underground artists that actually could use the publicity.

There is still a lot of good music being produced within D&B, dubstep, hip hop, etc. The problem i've noticed though is that people aren't looking to the roots of the music. People hear the word Skrillex and the word Dubstep, and assume that the two are related. Couldn't be further from the truth, and if you had done your research and looked back to the roots, you would know. Now we have a bunch of kids making abrasive, distorted, high frequency synth sounds calling it 'dubstep'. Its an insult to the producers that pioneered the sound and the vibe. Also, I dare someone to call me out with the typical 'music grows man, it evolves and changes.' I dare you.



Thats why the scene is so washed up these days. Just a bunch of ignorant producers regurgitaing the same sound over and over again. No innovation. No originality. No soul. They're not even in it for the music, they're in it for pussy and money. Simples.
No one looks back to the history of the music they're listening to. And THIS is why we have a very generic D&B scene in the UK, and an equally atrocious Hip Hop scene in the US.

Listen to any Drum'n'Bass from 1994-1998
Listen to any Hip Hop from 1989-1996
Listen to any Dubstep from 2003-2008

You will KNOW what i'm talking about. If every producer within those music genres did the above, then we would have a SURGE of awesome new music. The problem is people only have tripe to influence them. How can you produce anything more than generic lameness if thats all you listen to? rant over..

Ehhhhhhh, something just feels cheap about that stuff.  There is no complexity or nuance.  Jack Beats seems to capture the energy pretty well though; if I had some fire molls, I would check him out.

honestly this is what is wrong with this scene. we just argue about how shit it is instead of looking at the good shit. yea, the scene and crowd at pretty much every show like 4-5 years ago was awesome and now we have to wade through dipshits but there's still some awesome shit going down in the scene. and 4-5 years ago, the people who were raving in the late 90s and shit were complaining about how we were killing the scene...its a cycle and we should just kill it.
