my first dubstep party.
    #7229447 -

was last Saturday. what everyone said was true, you have to hear it from a decent sound system. i don't know how to estimate wattage, but there were four speaker stacks from floor to ceiling measuring maybe 4 feet by 8 feet or something. This was in a room that could fit maybe 200 people squashed together.

in addition to the floor/walls/ceiling shaking
you know those air guns? the bass was like getting hit with those air guns all over your body 2-3 times a second. it was fucking insane.
one of the few shows I've been too where i had to take my earplugs out about as much as i kept them in. usually I'm totally unwilling to risk hearing damage, but it was just too intense to pass up.

the only thing that sucked was the crowd wasn't the most ecstatic I've ever seen, and not really any good dancers, but still i had fun.

the dubsteb crowd is a weird one... we didn't see any real dancers at the last party we went to, either... some people doing some crazy grinding, i thought someone was going to get hurt.

IMO, that's the best small venue and the best soundsystem in NYC.

yos-

man, i get so sad when i see the jungle scene, and it seems like alot of jungle people populate the dubstep.  having witnessed the revelry and openness of a psytrance party i feel like they're wasting so much potential.  jungle/dubstep people are just as smart, but the feelings of mistrust and self-centeredness dominate.

i don't know, jungle especially always seemed so full of heady brave heart to me :frown:

Definitely; the dnb / dubstep scene is infested with cocaine.. Just like the psy scene (over here anyway) is infested with ketamine.. both have the same effect on the mood of a party

I don't like indoor venues.. I prefer a massive 10k rig in the middle of a field

Illegal psyraves ftw

Dub step is pretty new? When i was looking for places in Ft G. I ran into this guy working on dubstep tracks in his room.
