tiny black bugs shiitake gills before harvest

Our shiitakes still on the logs are infested with tiny black bugs before ready to harvest(almost immediately after fruiting). Anyone know what they are and where they come from? Know anyway to keep them away? We blow them off with an air compressor but would be nice to not have them. Thanks for any help!

Leave them alone. They're just spore eaters and won't harm the mushrooms. After picking, slap the mushrooms gill side down against a block of wood or similar and all the little critters will drop right out.

Look something like these little guys? I made a post long ago with the same question, and
have found that the advice RR has shared works very well. I have also heard from another
cultivator that he gives his blocks a spray down with water prior to harvest to knock all
the bugs off. I have not used this method myself, but it works for him apparently.
