i heard a lot about these african spores having really aggressive mycelium and colonizing very quicky...but i was wondering how fruiting compares to other strains. (speed, size, etc..)

also, has anyone tripped on them?

ts pretty early in the game for these so we dont have a lot to report yet. They are fast colonizers and very agressive mycelium. They do tend to develop a little overlay but eventually pin and fruit anyway. They do not produce large fruits but are very abundant fruiters giving off nice yields for a small amount of grain substrate. No telling how these will change over time as they become more domesticated. Our friend says the potency is very nice for a cubensis and is quite pleased with these South Africa gems. They tend to resist contamination well, especially green mold (trichoderma). Making these a real nice choice for beginning researchers or people having problems with contamination.

Wellllll guys, i have 12 guys right now colonizing. I will give you this much, i used creeper and south african. There are 3 batchs in these 12 jars of 4. 2 of each strain in each batch. I wish I would of labeled my jars, but there are certin jars which show VERY VERY fast colonization for me. I did some jars double end verm and some not, so there are a few roles that play for differance in results.

Creeper and S.African
Double end verm vs non double end verm.....

But anyways, the jars that were double end verm, and a few of them at that (meaning most likely 2 creeper or 2 south african), are showing MASSSIVE colonization over the rest. 1 week after this project has started it stands at for a first timer (me), 2 of the jars are over 50% colonized, now 3 jars of these 12 were contamed, but these 3 jars that were contamed, 2 of them show super fast mycelium growth also. I have no conclusive evidence because i didnt label my first 2 batchs of jars, and my 3rd batch of jars is 3 days younger. But i want to say this, the south african jars are just rippin everything up.....

yeah the contams suck.did you toss the 3 contamed jars?you should always label your jars with the strian and the date so you know what is going on and what one is what.did you pc your jars?thats is good that you are doing good for your frist time most people don't even make it that far you should be proud of yourself and that will make the shroom all the better when they are ready!

good luck to you
