Lol that's bullshit. That hardly applies to riding a motorcycle just because you like the taste of bugs in your teeth.

One might say the same to justify jumping off a cliff, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a stupid decision.

You did not directly state you rode a motorcycle. One could presumably toss plugs over their shoulder out the window of their CAR.

Lots of people like to ride bikes. Do you think it's because it's cheap on gas or something? It's exciting. And part of the fun is managing the risks involved.

I understand, but the excitement does not minimize the risks whatsoever. If you are going to ride a motorcycle because you think it's fun then you need to come terms with the fact that your head will probably one day be converted to jello.

All I'm saying is you are putting those risks on yourself...so you complaining about others' risky driving is kind of stupid when you have put yourself in that situation. You shouldn't expect everyone else to be more sensitive because you wanted to have exciting fun while the less impulsive and more responsible of us bought a vehicle that you actually have some safety in.

there are serious risks associated with riding a motorcycle. almost every person i have talked to/heard of who was in an accident had serious injuries as a result, loss of limbs, back problems, brain problems, death, etc etc etc... it is rare that they just got a little road rash from all I hear.

but FUCKING A!!! riding through some windy canyons is some ridiculous fun!!

Hey, if I'm dealt that card, so be it. At least I will go out doing something I really enjoy.

I've probably had more motorcycle rider training than 90% of the professional drivers on the road, so I really do feel safe when I ride. Not to mention that my bike can brake, accelerate and swerve much better than any car or truck can.

If you're scared of it, OP, that probably means you should try it.

I don't care what you do, but you will not be spewing the same "live free, die hard" philosophy when you are laying in a pool of blood in the middle of the hot asphalt street as you die. The fun is always better before the consequences come.

The same could be said with drugs. Shoot up heroin or meth if you want, but there are going to be some consequences.

Fucking girlyboy safety culture in North America makes people absolutely terrified of the slightest thing that might have the potential, in the wrong hands, to cause harm.

I ride in Bangkok. That is risky. Here, not so much.
