NH Shroom Hunting

Hey guys brand new here...tomarrow morning I'm gonna go shroom hunting in my back yard...I live in a place with 2 ackers of land with multiple wet lands with a lotta dry land too...I haven't been out back then for a while but I'm pretty sure that theres a lot of dead tree's...So I'm guessing to find Gymnopilus junonius. I have only done shrooms once sooo yeah...I'm proably gonna mark where they are somehow and take pictures of them in multiple angles and then come here and ask what they are IF NEEDED.  Any shroom hunters from NH are free to pm me I would love to talk to you guys.

Welcome to the Shroomery and good luck on your hunt.  I love the Hunting/ID forum.  Take lots of pix for us and check out the stickies before posting an ID request and the trustees will answer you quickly:super:.  Search fuction is great for any questions you may have.  Now get out there!

Tell her your going to survey the land, get some cool photos and you'll show her them when you return.  If she questions you further tell her you like to survey land.

Tell them that you are mushroom hunting. There are many many mushrooms that grow in your area that you can bring home to the table, but there arn't many actives. Just because you say you are hunting mushrooms doesn't mean you are looking to get high.

It is obviously the first thing that people think when you say hunting mushrooms, but once you start throwing out some latin names for different mushrooms you have found they look at you differently.

Everyone thinks I go out looking for actives because I look like a hippy, but in reality I don't even enjoy eating Psilocybes because it is always a flip of a coin for me. Sometimes I get really sick to my stomach from them and am puking into a multi-colored toilet bowl and other times I have an amazing trip with no horrible side effects.

I just enjoy finding large fruiting fungi:smile:

Well it's now when I should go but I couldn'go earlier because I had to go to the hospital for a certin reason today :/ I might go longboarding and look for spots.

Welcome to the hunting forums.

Look for edibles as well. Bring some chanterelles and oysters home to help with dinner. Reishi tea is very healthy too.

Caerulipes season is starting up near the White Mountains. Hunting for the bluefoot is difficult and requires patience. Do a lot of reading, use the search function here. Be sure to confirm your id's before eating anything.

I find that wandering through the forests is relaxing and helps me clear my head. It becomes rewarding when you can identify edible plants and mushrooms.

im in nh seacoast and i dont think there are very may psycoactive mushrooms around, maybe some ok  edibles but im not into that.....
