i saw bassnectar at bisco and he fucking KILLED it (besides his mixer fucking up and dying during his set but it started working again),..def some downtempo stuff mixed in there and thats th exact kinda shit i wanna hear from nectar


and idk i saw zeds dead at bisco too and i thought they sucked badly...I was K rocked and they seemed to be playing a lot of like housy/fidget/electro stuff as well and when i thnk of zeds dead i think of stricly dubstep...they only had so much time to play and they tried to do too much imo with mixing the genres...i just wanted dubstep from them

Yeah, every artist has their off days, which sucks if thats the show you're at haha. But who did you all catch at Bisco? And how was the general experience there?

i had a great time, but idk i didnt really buy any drugs from people there, at a place like camp the drugs are SHIT...i brought my own fire shards and decent blow...and got lucky and found legit fucking doses from 3 different guys


the music was awesome, saw a bunch of names, my top 5 goes: amon tobin, bassnectar, mimosa, dillon francis, Big Gigantic

id say its fun if you can handle a 3 day fest, but theres really no community vibe going on there, everyones doing their own thing for the most part, which is cool if ur with a decent crew

lots of ketamine, probly more than a LOT of festivals

ovrall it was my 3rd year there and i intend on going back next year

STS9 is the best electronic touring act around and they charged $28 a show last time they came through the Fillmore.  I gauge it by that.  I've seen bassnectar 6 times now and he gets worse every show.  It's all about teh bass.  Whenever he gets into a groove he changes it entirely to something completely different.  I would go for free.  I would never pay $38 for that.  Are you fucking kidding me?  :lolsy:

STS9 is not even remotely close to the best currently touring electronic act

they are more jam band than electronic too

They almost never jam.  They did a 303 jam in 2008 and improv Dec 29 when hunters MIDI broke.  That's the only improv I've seen in the past four years.  Their san fran 09 show arguably could be.  Point is, they never jam.

I'd have to agree with you. Eoto does blow. People say it's all "improv", and yeah it is, but it all sounds horrible and I can't find and musical talent in their playing

i agree

EOTO was the first show in a LONG time i left early cuz they sucked so bad

but id put a TON of names as a better touring electronic act than STS9, starting with names like bassnectar, pretty lights, big gigantic, emancipator, mimosa, a trak, wolfgang gartner, etc etc etc

a TOn of names above STS9, they arent that awesome at all

still, his prices are ridiculous, $45 plus an extra $5 for fees. So I'm out $100. I guess the venue (Chafitz Arena) is the reason why it's expensive because I have a ticket for phish there and it cost $75 :facepalm:


I was thinking about buying tickets to that show but idk if I'll be able to make it or not. I have a few friends that are going and it Sounds like fun, never been to a dub show. We'll see I guess

yeah im going to the Umass show, last time he played there it was insane and i went to a sick afterparty, madd tanks afterwards (free for me cuz it was my homie running em) and no cops came and at least 200 people were there and we were being real fucking loud...that was the first time i threw up from doing too much coke lol

gotta love western mass where theres no neighbors to annoy...i miss partying at umass, graduating sucks
