Need some ironic ideas

For use in mah drawings.

Maybe not even ironic just crazy ideas of things to incorporate into my artwork.

One thing I came up with was a painting within a painting.

Ideas?

study escher. I bet you could pull a lot of inspiration from his work. He obviously works with a lot of paradoxes and impossible spaces.

the 'painting within a painting' reminded me of this:




Maybe somehow natural processes occuring backwards, upsidedown, inverted, etc. Something that is familiar, but fucked up-not right.

Figure out something. Draw reality as it occurs before you. That's ironic in itself. Who am I to tell you??? Ever hear "Wedding in Cherokee County" by Randy Newman? That's a cool song to get some inspiration. So is the WHOLE album "Good Old Boys".

Ironic? Hmmmmm....

This likely will not suit your needs, but one night long ago I got to witness irony at its highest.

We had a party at a friend's house in a small redneck town. Many of us were tripping. The local fire chief, a friend of the host's family, showed up.

So what did he do? The fire chief got all fucked up on Jim Beam, passed out while smoking in a back bedroom, and caught the house on fire.

Now THAT'S irony.
