No seriously, want to get in that lifestyle, even the gangsters today though somewhat poserish and niggerish. They're still IN the lifestyle. Work your way up, start staying on the street and getting known.

His life is awesome for a decade or two, and then it's terrible. He ends up living the exact life you're trying to avoid. He's a nervous fucking wreck and a drug addict. The last line in the movie is "I'm an average nobody. I get to live the rest of my life like a schnook." Not to mention the countless people that died pretty horrible deaths.

What depends on that? His life ends up being miserable, that's the entire point. So, sticking to the world it takes place in, even if you got his life (which may or may not happen, you could just end up dead at 25) it still isn't all good drugs and fun times.

Dude I had never even heard of Donnie Brasco until I saw it on netflix about a year ago. Fucking amazing, its pretty much tied with Goodfellas and yet nobody ever talks about it
