hello to all! I recently started working at a golf course on the island of oahu ,hi. this mornig I went out to play a round by myself and found quite the surprise. In the middle of just about every fairway are thousands of mushrooms that appear to be psychoactive. I spent about 20 minutes picking and came home with a 20 oz cup full with fresh mushrooms. I was just wondering if anyone can help positively identify these guys. here are a few pics. thanks for the help!

and btw- spore prints are black.
gills are dark grey/black
caps are gold/yellow in the center darkening at edges with some cracking in larger specimens.

i see no bluing but that doesnt nessacerily mean they arent active. although id bet they were a coprinus or some other non active species. we need much more details please read the sticky thread and provide a better description and for god sakes at least give us a spore print color. peace

They look very much like copelandia cyanescens. They arent really bluing like you pointed out though. the stems stay brown evenafter being smashed.

they look like pans, possibly caster, or maybe subbs if it was well fertalized. the shape color and look of gills point me that direction at least.

is there any chance they are poisonous? I think I might eat about 10 caps and see what happens, as long as i know they arent going to kill me.

would eating 10 pan subs or pan casters even have an effect on a person? i thought it would take more than that, but i could be mistaken. thanks!

if they were cope cyans there would be alot of very strong blueing. the brown bruising is seen on lots of inactives. its from moisture and all that rather than a chemical reacting with the air. let us know if they start to turn to mush then they would be a coprinus. also i wouldnt eat them just yet. happy shrooming

from the second pic it most probably is a panaeolus species. as for the species i dont know. check around the non-dung Panaeoli such as P. fimicola, casaneifolius, P. ater.

Hi,
Those are definetly a species of Panaeolus. Ps. cyanescens will not always bruise blue, however they must be growing in or around dung. The shape and color of the caps look to be right.
I'd wait for a better ID. You wouldnt die eating them, but they could make you sick. Id not eat them unless I knew what they were.
I think I've seen these growing before. I used to live on the Big Island, and my friends picked them and ate them w/o getting a proper identification. They felt no hallucinogenic effects, but, were perfectly fine the next day.
As others have mentioned, Ps. caster's is another good guess.
Once again, I wouldnt recommend eating them.
