I used to like Metallica a lot

Then I heard bands such as Tool and Rush etc...
I still have a lot of respect for Metallica, though. They were the band the I listened to in my teen angst years while sitting alone in my room with my bass guitar. Those simple yet pounding bass lines from the Black Album taught me a lot. I think The Black Album is fuckin' good and I don't care if you think it's bad. People make fun of Lars Ulrich because he's not the best drummer but his drumming was Perfect for the kind of music that Metallica made. HIs drumming on the Black Album is delightfully simple yet perfectly constructed.

Sorry I'm drunk and kind of ranting :ilold: You can make fun of me and Metallica if you want.

I used to like Metallica, too. They were a big part of why I went to Bonnaroo in '08, which convinced me to go to Rothbury, which made me fall in love with festivals, so I guess I owe that to them. They don't really do much for me anymore, but I'll still rock out when certain songs come on.

But nothing from the Black Album. Dude, that shit is terrible.

it's certainly not as good as Kill 'em All or Master of Puppets... (and my personal favorite And Justice For All; so sue me) but it's still not as bad as Load/Reload and St Anger and shite.

Because it's entry level metal music. You'd hate Tool and Rush too if you ventured out and found more music.

Oh, no, we're actually in total agreement. I just had to give him a hard time about the Black Album because he literally asked for it in the OP. Bad, but not too bad is the perfect way to describe that album.

the new worm ouroboros album is super quality

and supposedly samothrace has a new album coming out this year

it sounds really heady... i'll look into it tomorrow when it's not so late... and not watching Dexter. but yeah, so far i liked it. :thumbup:
