and lol even harder @ the people who are saying if a scientific theory isnt irrefutable fact, it is the same as religion.

what does that say about the term religion when you ddfine it as something with no proof?

Creationism is no more a debate against evolution than some idiot trying to argue the earth is flat.

what is your argument? seems like a lot of "lol"s
I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

I don't need an argument.

The smartest minds of the past few thousand years have published enough facts that to even call it a debate is laughable, hence the lulz.

Depending on what you mean by Creationism, there isn't a whole lot of room for debate. Some people are dissatisfied with an -apparently self-caused universe and relegate themselves to believing in a self-caused entity. Either way, the question of infinite regress remains- if the universe began with God, why was God there; if there universe began with a physical singularity, why was the singularity there?

Recognizing the infinite regress is a very important move to make intellectually imo. For me the question of the beginning of the universe is a bad question to ask simply because you enter the world of infinite regress. A page or two ago me and Diecommie talked about the idea that there is an asymptote line for modeling the universe as you track back in time toward the big bang event. The same problem occurs for religion that you point out. Who created God/where did God come from if everything must have a cause? In the end it isn't very important at all because neither theory of how the universe began is informative to our lives as moral beings. This is the is/ought distinction that Hume points out. In sum, regardless of how the universe began there is nothing that information can tell us about how to live our lives. I really truly believe that the question of the beginning of the universe is perhaps one of the oldest and most useless questions known to mankind.

Well said, but I don't agree that the origin of the universe is a useless question to ask.  In my opinion, it is one of the most interesting, awesome and mind-boggling things to think about, and thus makes it one of the most exciting questions to ponder and try to find an answer to.

Just because the answer to that question (origin of the universe) would only exist as pure knowledge and have no cliche modern applications like making peoples' food cook faster doesn't make it useless knowledge.

Some people who put less emphasis on morality or view it as a trivial human construct might even say the opposite - that the question of how we "ought" to live our lives is less important than figuring out how everything came to be.

So basically, your "argument" is:

..duly noted.
