A friend of mine had some cakes growing that formed a little bit of a yellowish looking growth on the bottom.... after consulting a few people here at the shroomery he decided to birth the cakes anyway..... Now.... the yellow seems to have dissapeared and there are fruits growing on the cakes.... My friend was just wondering if these fruits are safe to eat? or is he going to die from it?
Yeh, my heater broke and like 5 PF Jars stalled and got this yellow orangy lining all around the colonized part. I was sure it was contam. I birthed two fo them and made a casing that turned out to be REALLY healthy. Once the temps in the chamber got back up, the cakes restarted and the orangy yellowish thing is gone.

if it fits the mycelium piss description... and my understanding of humidity affecting this. air exchange and birth may fit the medicine the cakes needed to resume growth. Contamination usually hinders growth. having it disappear is a good sign. any updates?
