Probably because they got off-topic, I'm just quoting studies that show Americans don't really know basic knowledge in that area/poll.

I don't actually think they're all unintelligent.

Yeah rite but we're expected to know that Earth isn't the center of the Universe. Come on. What am I supossed to take a spacship round the universe. You make a good point tho I can take statistics and make them say whatever I want. Also I can go to any country and make stupid people say whatever I want. So far this thread proves nothing.

What does the mean intelligence of a nation mean anyways? It really doesn't prove much. People move around so much these days that it's probably irrelevant. Everyone has ignorant/dumb people in their nation/city/town but it takes a smart(er) person to surround themselves with equally as smart people so they can better themselves. Arguing and posting stats on a forum shows that there is stupid people in this world :cookiemonster:

How 'bout we acknowledge the fact that Americans have been born and breed to be mindless consumers.  Lemmings told by the glowing rectangle in their living room that they and their children need to be on this drug or another.  And then to wash those pills down with fluoridated water.  America is just another experiment coming to its conclusion.  If you think about it, we never really had a chance.  So yes, a large portion of the U.S. is dumber than a bag of rocks.  But... that was the point.
