SE Asia cubensis finds, many pics to confirm
    #16120244 -

Hello, happy 4:20.  We go out today and eat some home grown mushrooms while go out hunting, magical day and good finds.  some i don't know as well, i hope maybe you can help with me identify.  If my English is not enough for some description, please let me know if you need more information.  I thankful for any help.

All mushrooms are from the same area.  grassy openings in Pandanus stands just back from the salty spray of the ocean.

$1 and 2 are found growing form water buffalo dung, #3 from the grass/soil.

______________________________________________

Mushroom #1, P. cubensis (right?)

Habitat:
Open grassland in water buffalo fields.  grassy, but found in teh linger grass (10-30cm) not the short grass.  grow form the dry ages poo, only in the poo on the outside.

Gills:
I think brown, pictures are more clear.

Stem:
for size, i take pictures to scale, i think better than i try to describe.  but they do peel off like cheese stick.  very large stems are maybe hollow in middle, not always.  they snap at about a 45 degree angle.

Cap:
the caps in picture, but the smell is like mushroom and the texture is not wet.

Spore print color:
see picture, look dark purple to me.

Bruising:
has blue bruise.

Other information:
i believe this is cubensis i am very sure, or another Psilocybe.  This is in tropical island around Philippines approximately.  this is begin of season and recent rains made these flush.

Mushroom #2, Panaeolus sp. ?

Habitat:
Open grassland in water buffalo fields.  grassy, but found in the linger grass (10-30cm) not the short grass.  grow form the dry ages poo, only in the poo on the outside. same as the p. cubensis above but all these dry out.

Gills:
I think brown/dark.

Stem:
breaks, very thin.maybe a few mm wide and 5cm long.

Cap:
small, most found were dry but found one fresh one that is a little moist.  all dark brown, fresh one medium brown/dark tan.

Spore print color:
black

Bruising:
cant see any.
Other information:

Mushroom #3?

Habitat:
growing in water buffalo field seemingly out of dirt/grass.  could have manure under, dont know.

Gills:
light/pinkish

Stem:
short sturdy, more bendy than above.

Cap:
all white, not moist and rounder.

Spore print color:
brownish.

Bruising:
none

Thank you for looking.Habitat photo

Last one looks like some kind of Agaricus. No idea which.

In ancient times, when demons roamed with man, They hunted, loved and lost, hand in hand, As time went on, the difference between them faded. You couldn't tell anymore, demons and man were related, and some would say the same, but who would like to claim? In time, Gods had even forgot, Demons, too, once love had sought. In times recent I remember, Once I was a man, In my heart I had an ember, I'll relate the best I can but it was snuffed, one distant December. And yet here I stand, no flesh, no bones, no seed or semen, All that's left is this Demon.

Thanks for sharing!

1st group is Psilocybe cubensis :awesomenod: Nice haul :congrats:
2nd group is an inactive Panaeolus species of some sort.
3rd group is some sort of Agaricus mushroom. Did the caps and/or stem bases bruise yellow or any other color? If you crush the base of the stem do you smell anything?

thank you very much

for #3, no bruising.  even now 12 hours later no bruise.  when squeeze there is very small smell of normal mushroom.  but almost cannot smell.

after sunset there was a big thunderstorm out at sea which we watched.  it brought good rain so i think go back this weekend.  hope then have the really big cap size.

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

Great Pics - I imagine that Asia is the perfect climate for Cubes - plenty of rain and humidity all year round.

thank you.  yes water buffalo here.  like last picture.  we have almost no cows here because too hot.  always humid here but there is a dry season and wet season, no mushrooms in dry season because no rain, but still humid.  good to grow.

today i make abig pot of straw, coco and dung mixed with the rotten mushrooms we found for spores.  we will see, didnt heat treat anything.
