Ron Paul draws thousands at MSU Speech
    #15875342 -

http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/article/20120228/ELECTIONS01/302280036/1002/NEWS01

EAST LANSING — It seemed like a fair trade for an 11th-hour campaign stop in another state where polls indicate Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul likely will finish out of the money in today’s Michigan primary.

For almost an hour Monday afternoon, the Texas congressman showed the people his familiar, libertarian-flavored way of the wilderness. In exchange, the overflow crowd at the 3,700-seat Michigan State University Auditorium showed him the love.

Paul walked onto the stage to a 40-second standing ovation. His standard-stump-speech call for dismantling federal government as it has been known for at least two generations drew applause, cheers and chants — “President Paul, President Paul” primarily.

References to government programs and policies in disfavor with Paul and with the crowd — the Patriot Act, for example — generated rounds of on-cue booing.

“Enough is enough,” Paul said about the loss of civil liberties, drawing another prolonged standing ovation.

Throughout the afternoon, Paul emphasized:

Federal government has grown too large to work.

The principles of the nation’s founders have been ignored or trampled.

Personal freedoms are under siege.

Federal economic and monetary policies and foreign wars are ruinous.

The remedies lie in citizen involvement, Paul said. Congress will listen when the people speak — especially when they utilize the Internet to express themselves.

“Those in charge are afraid of the Internet,” Paul said in a broad reference to Congress and successive presidential administrations.

Paul characterized the War on Drugs as more dangerous and costly than the drugs themselves.

Paul described the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, as having been used by government “to do the things they wanted to do all along” — a reference to the war launched by the Bush administration against Iraq.

“The Taliban just want to be left alone,” he said of the Islamic fundamentalists fighting the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan.

“I believe in a lot of the things he’s for, including getting our soldiers out of other countries,” said Mary Champagne, 44, of Williamston, who attended the rally with her husband and son.

So why is it that this isn't reported on any "major" news? If it were any other candidate, the media would be drooling all over it...

I saw it online and thought it was great news, its hard to get any information about this candidate, the mainstream media outlets really sway and hide a lot of positive information to sway peoples opinion.

That's not fair is it?

I read rule #3, we are talking and discussing aren't we?

I posted this video & link with full detail of what was reported, its not from some crazy conspiracy site nor is it from some media controlled government affiliated site.
I posted it to start discussion about the political movement featured in this video, this candidate seems like the right choice for presidency & a lot of people SUPPORT HIM, including the majority of our US soldiers in fact, and of course mommy and daddy who supported their children in going off to war, the wars they once regarded as the right thing to do for our country... There is such a turn around now, a unification of dislike in our country, people are tired of paying for wars (domestic (drug-war) and foreign (terrorism)) while trying to borrowing and tax our way out of the gaping whole of debt that permanently lies in the era of our country's current history... Tired of giving up rights and liberties in the name of security from a non-existent enemy.

This potential president says in great detail, that he wants to stop pretty much EVERYTHING wrong with our country, yet people nit pick about stupid issues like his foreign policy (yet our military troops, you know, the ones doing the work? They agree with him and his policies)

You know why people are nit picking away stupidly?
Because the majority of the crooked media guides the questions and answers.
They post the "statistics" & "polls" to sway your opinion as if America has made its choices so you should jump ship to the highest %.
Meanwhile the only hope our country has, the only hopeful thats offering answers to real issues, hes being blackballed, cut out of pictures, cut short on time, while our economy sinks deeper than it ever has...

I remember seeing one poll/article that was credible, he won, but still his name was last place, bottom of the list, and they didn't mention him again in the article...

tsk tsk... I'm just trying to be unbiased here....

You are now.

Look, I'm not a mod. I've been here a long time though and have seen many, many threads locked because the OP did as you did.

It was just advice.

Anything they can get their teeth on to show and sway peoples opinions. This was a very large crowd at a large college in where??

-It was in Michigan where according to the Results for Michigan Republican Primary (U.S. Presidential Primary)

Feb 28, 2012 (>99% of precincts reporting)
Mitt Romney 409,899 41.1%
Rick Santorum 377,521 37.9%
Ron Paul 115,712 11.6%
Newt Gingrich 65,016 6.5%
Other 29,024 2.9%

So, according to this^, Mitt Romney & Rick Santorum both are leading ahead of Ron Paul.

I have read stories and articles about campaign stops at shops and restaurants with different combinations Gingrich, Romney, Santorum, etc. all trying to sway public opinion. The "mainstream" media does frequently post blogs and reports about theses stops and how many people were gathered (usually a small number maybe toppin out in the 100's), they report on which person the crowd is leaning towards, they report what was discussed at these small events etc.

This was a large event at MSU with a lot of students, parents, voters etc (like 4000). It has power to push forward a movement which in some peoples eyes has grown out of control.

Like I said above, I just thought It was rare seeing it reported so I thought I'd spread it around, see what others thought.

(In my opinion) the media does everything it can to ignore Ron Paul, unless they have something to make him look bad.  Also, 4000 people, especially 4000 college kids, isn't really a lot.  Certainly nothing to make a big deal over.  Had 100,000 people attended, then you are talking big news.

My definition of bad is a never ending federal drug war, unlimited spending and non auditability by the (non-->)Federal Reserve (<--has no reserves), the passing of militaristic, constitutionally eroding bills and laws, weaponizing Mexican cartel & other countries to fuel future wars... just to name a few...

you guys disagree?

How many people here are so ready to jump on the, all to familiar, media driven bandwagon? So we can have more of the same "last  4-12 years" experience. You guys joke about Ron Paul? Our country is a JOKE!

The only guy who is discussing real issues, being the only candidate to have more support and contributions from OUR VERY OWN military troops, more then all the hopefuls & OBAMA combined.

Anyone here in the military? (most likely not) I wish i could understand why our troops so vehemently support this DR.
Are they idiots? Surely not,
However, as an American citizen, sitting comfortably behind our borders, limited to information fed to us through the internet and mainstream media, YOU have to wonder...
perhaps our troops know something we do not or...
perhaps they are seeing something that we as citizens are blind to...

If you have enough of your friends and battle buddies blown away for a cause that you haven't been debriefed about, or in your debriefing, it still leaves masses of soldier & troops morally unconscionable when dealing with "orders".
Perhaps they are tired of killing innocent men women and children because they were, "just doing there job" or "just following orders"
Perhaps THEY feel a little conscientious about their "jobs and orders"?

So through the years of offering their lives to the "service" have our soldiers grown weary and tired of OUR "war on terror"? Surely they would know our situation more realistically then any armchair politics, media spoon-fed, uncanny citizen like the majority of US HERE ON THIS SITE. After all, They are on the front lines, they see death and lives cut short daily, and all for what cause? (They ask themselves regularly why is it like this!??)

Whatever the case is for our troops major support for this candidate...

This is where i stand, where we all should, behind our troops, and the citizens who sent out their sons and daughters,
mine and your friends and families who "serve", who have "served", and who lost their lives to the "service" in question.

If you ever agreed to this "war on terror" (as most were duped into), or the actions of our nation against other nations (because of said war) you have the chance to redeem your actions and our past mistakes as a country, stop these fake wars, (like our troops and Dr. Paul BOTH WANT) or we can continue on with the same...puppets puppets puppets...

And If you vote for any candidate that isn't discussing the real issues like the federal reserve strategically destroying our economy, or what our troops and their parents and families want (-->Dr. Paul's foreign policy) or the never ending "Drug War" (Paul is the only one talking about that you silly shroomerites) OR the passing of bills that erode our liberty and freedoms as citizens...

Voting for any other candidate than Dr. Paul, to me, honestly seems like just voting for all the same BS that we are and have been enduring for the past 4-12 years.

Good luck with that...

When bad/evil leaders are in control for long periods of time, things DO NOT get better, things become easier for them, that evil grows stronger. Things have not gotten better by any means over the last 4-12 years here in this country, sugar coat it anyway you want too... by far, we are worse off then we ever have been in the history of this great nation.

http://www.usdebtclock.org/

Over 15 trillion in national debt, 46 million on food stamps, millions and millions who lost their homes and jobs, all of this seems strategic from a view point that needs its people to willingly rely on its government. Nothing rarely just happens.... This was planned, this was controlled, this is evil, and at the rate its going, it looks never ending.
Tell me this, what evil leaders would give up control once established?

Grousing? Are my complaints petty? Really luvdem? So what is a valid complaint or gripe you have with the way our country is turning out? I'd say everything i mentioned above, (what Dr. Paul stands up for) I think those issues are a little more then petty... Perhaps the majority of voters think like you? They consider and label real issues as petty, while our current government leaders do as they wish...regardless of things being within their authority to do so or not.

Tell my why is it if according to http://2012.republican-candidates.org/Marijuana.php

Ron Paul is the only candidate who is saying that it is within the states rights to control and allow drugs not the federal governments right. So, he wants to allow cannabis in your state if you'd vote for him, thats saying A LOT MORE then any other of these puppets who all want to keep cannabis and any other future substance in the monopoly of the FDA/NIDA/etc. So your telling me that all the people who want cannabis reform... thats like over 50% of the nation... they aren't gonna vote for the only person who wants to allow them this?

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :laugh2: Your kidding yourself... Not to seem like i'm grousing but, THATS CLEARLY A HUGE ISSUE FOR MOST PEOPLE.

You too right? Don't you want the end of the drug war? None of the other candidates are talking about ending it but Dr.Paul.

It would be completely naive to think that people care more about any of this other political hogwash then they do about their drugzzzz... life without money is bad, life without pot... is... devastating.

All these polls, all these statistics, all these lies, Dr.Paul has the best chance out of anyone to be the next president. All our troops, the majority of the youth, and all the anti drug war folks, they're all voting Ron Paul. Obviously cause he has their best interest at heart, and they all know it.

grousing - present participle of grouse
Verb:
Complain pettily; grumble.

Is the thought of our country's continuing downfall entertaining to you?

Careful how you answer, you could be considered a terrorist by the government, which to you, is only considered a grouse worthy topic.

So what? Google is not a dictionary. I use dictionaries to look up definitions. In this case I already knew my definition is correct.

Your failure to know the definition for a word (found in every dictionary) is not my problem.

Your whining and failure to know a definition is what I found entertaining.

And still do.

Here's another:

for mass informing people of the wrong definition that appears at the top of the page when searching "grousing"....or you could think for a second... did google just add that to the definition? Or is it from a real dictionary... does google make up its own words and definitions...duhhhhhhh:crazy2:

>I use dictionaries to look up definitions. In this case I already knew my definition is correct.

No Luvdem, YOUR failure to know the definition for a word (found in every dictionary) is not MY problem.

Do you keep special shelves at you house with all of the dictionaries from which you researched that word "grousing" and Do you know every definition and usage example??? NOPE, you looked it up online and pasted the information here.

>Google is not a dictionary.

Unless you have every dictionary stored on your hard drive, you probably just copied and pasted that definition from an online dictionary, through a search engine (Google most likely) That same search engine I used, that takes the most popular and accurate information from all its resources and puts it at the top of the search list according to what you searched for. Since google has a million dictionaries within its reach, this technically makes Google a library of dictionaries or A Super Dictionary.

-Do you think any of the candidates present are going to somehow change our rapidly degrading nation? Who? and How?
