I don't know how many of you watch this awesome show. So much better than the UK one.

My question is, what the fuck is up with Lip (Phillip). It's only 7 episodes into the 2nd season and he's already gotten the shit beaten out of him like 10-11 times. And 4/5, he instigates the fight. Dude is a fucking genius, but he sure does like to get a good old fashioned ass whoopin.

How many other Shameless fans are out there?

I like how Americans can only appreciate TV shows if the actors have American accents.

I love British TV. I love British music.

But compare the UK and US version of Shameless, US win by an extremely large margin.

I have a friend like this. EXTREMELY Intellegent, I mean top 5 of my class (went to top 50 HS in America..only HS that can give degrees instead of diplomas), got nearly perfect SAT scores (like 2340 or something), perfect 36 on his ACT, goes to UPenn on a full scholarship and graduated in 3 years, lives in London now. Fucking GENIUS.

But for some reason, kid is ALWAYS starting shit with people. Could be the inner city mentality like Lip (Philly instead of Chicago) or maybe it's something hardwired into really, REALLY smart peoples brains. Like, he finds pleasure in getting primal. I mean. fighting does give you an extreme fight or flight adrenaline rush that other adrenaline pumping situations can't give you. Maybe everything else just bores him :shrug:

Anyway, I love the show it's awesome. Every single character is just so interesting. I've actually started calling my friend Phillip Lip, he has no clue why though. Ha.

That's a good explanation. Two of my close friends were INCREDIBLY smart. This was when the SAT's were on the old scale and they both nailed it so hard, it was within 10-20 points of a 1600.

Anyways, they both attended a very prestigious university in VA, (Same University Jon Stewart graduated from), got way into drugs and philosophy, which ended up being far more destructive than the drugs.

Next thing I know, I see them on fucking America's Most Wanted. I mean how fucked up is that. I'm not going to get into what they did, but one of them had dual citizenship in the US and UK, so he fled the country and shit, last I heard he was bouncing around countries in Europe.

The other guy got jail time, went back to school, but last time I saw him he mentioned that every single time he interviews for a job, a quick google search of his name shows his Americas Most Wanted mugshot.

Not exactly the kind of thing you want a potential employee to see with just a few key strokes.

dude you probably shouldn't post information about knowing the whereabouts of someone on America's Most Wanted list unless you want to be in a small room with an FBI agent for a few days

Umm, he's somewhere in Europe... I haven't talked to him since like 2005.

Bring on the FBI agents. Should be fun explaining everything I know about him since I last saw him almost 7 years ago.

It really is. I love the show.

Granny getting Carl to buy shitloads of Sudafed so she can set up a meth lab in the basement.

While she went to jail in the first place because she was getting college students to run meth labs and 2 of them died in and explosion.

It's so awesome how well William H Macy play's Frank. Back in the 90's and early 00's he was always such a straight cut stiff as a board character. I mean look at Fargo. That's not insulting his range of acting, but those were the types of roles he was cast in.

Now he's a long haired alcoholic, cheat, scammer, thief, deadbeat dad to 6 children. A pathetic waste of life that thinks he's the shit.

And I love it in one episode of Season 1 where he gets punched in the face, knocked to the ground, and didn't even spill a drop of his glass of beer.

Ugh, I feel like you made this thread to piss me off. Anyone reading this who is undecided: the UK version is tasteful and halarious and the US version is nauseating and irritating like nails on a chalkboeard. Only watch it if you are a masochist.

I watched the entire UK version and loved it. I started watching the US version and just could not get into it. :shrug:

Wow, complete opposite. UK is bland and tasteless, like chewing on a cardboard box that's been in the alley for a week.

US is awesome. It's gritty, it's real, it's down to earth, and it's funny as hell.
