Identification : 2 Two Variations

Taking a spore print of these. Sorry about huge pics :



The one on the right could be that inky one. I am unsure about the two on the left.


Here are the caps :




I am taking a spore prints right now. Found these in the Edinburgh / Dell region. The ones on the left were hidden in a shady spot underneath small trees / bushes with nettles growing around. The inky? one was growing around a wooden step.
The purplish hue must be some light getting into the scanner - plz ignore. The inky has a disgusting smell wheras the other have very little smell at all.

The smell of the inky cap makes me think about narcotici subsection of the Coprinus genus.

While those are no fgood, I can tellyou that I know for sure that there are many P. cyanescens at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh come October and November growing int he gardens under rhoderdendrons and other plants.

I know that ofr a fact since the leading mycologist at the gardens informed me of them with pictures for my library.

omg ! Nice one and thanks. So one can go along to the Botanic Gardens to obtain these items ROFL ! Well I'll definately be heading along there :P. Does that species look similar to any dangerous / harmful species I should watch out for ? The guy you asked about this.. did he not sort of suspect that you could have been interested in the mushrooms for their mind altering properties ? I'd feel a little embarassed asking about this :P

I have worked with Dr., Watling. HE does not do drugs and is straight yet he has written papers on the Taxonomy of some species of Magic Shrooms and conducted fieeld research in Australia.

He is the head of the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Please do not approach him about magic shrooms.

And as I noted the P. cyanescens fruits inthe fall before the winter months in muclh inthe garden beds around the Garden grounds.
