i normally smoke a marlboro red variety.
i get the 100's when im doing poor and then i put em out about half way through.
ive had a few of the $1 off varieties and they feel like lighter cigs which i don't care for much.
part of it is to get rid of that urge to smoke.
now ive been swaping my normal red's with camel reds ( though the package reads kamel) and their pretty good. deffinitly not as much of a nasty flavor as regular reds. so i rotate my kinds so i don't get tired of em too fast.

i dont smoke menthols cause they make me cough more and lights aren't enough smoke for me

Camel lights for 14 years.  The taste has changed over the years.  I also refuse to call them Camel Blue.

Marb lights -- my first and last pack. Tasted kind of like air, except less tasty.

Never tried dipping pouches, any benefit besides not as messy?

benefit? Besides a horrific addiction that is nastier looking than smoking and harder to quit than smoking (A can of dip, on average, has about the same amount of nicotine as 2-3 packs of smokes.... you do the math). Been down that road, trust me man, don't bother - not worth it, girls find it repulsive, and my gums are shot to shit. glad I'm off it. Preaching aside - yes. No mess. just pop em' in and spit em out. anyone that dips the traight tobacco though can tell you it's nothing like the real deal, and once you're seasoned with the shit, it's a low to no mess operation regardless.

I meant in comparison to dipping regular long cut.  I don't dip often, sometimes when I fish with my redneck brother.

hahahahaha laughed at that one... but no, as I said pouches cut down on the messiness factor one hundred percent. I forget how many they put in each can, but I know if you were to empty out the pouches and just dip it long cut (did that once b/c I am opposed to the pouches, not my thing) it's certainly less than a full can for the same price. irregardless that was off topic - they wrap the dip in a like tea bag type of bag, and yeah, you just pop them in, and when you're done, out they go. no mess at all. very convenient if you're not into the mess of packing, spilling, inserting, stragglers while you're doing it, mess taking it out, etc... as I said though all of them relatively dispensary with regular use. and yes, the ladies certainly don't enjoy the phenomenon my friends and I have donned "grizz tooth," that is, the little particles that get stuck in between your teeth that rinsing with water can't get rid of...
but I also notice the main brands you'll find the pouches in are skoal, and their fruit flavors, which certainly don't have as much nic. and subsequent "kick" as stronger varieties such as grizzly or copenhagen. Grizzly has recently started making pouches, but truthfully I've never seen them around my neck of the woods.
Truthfully I'd recommend to you, being a very occasional user, buying a can of grizzly mint for when you do use it - it's a lot "drier" than the wintergreen (like, not as wet/moist), which makes it easier to pack and it stays together well in your mouth, plus it packs a hell of a punch if you're nic. intolerant. and it's probably like $1.50 if you're in the South.

I used to dip.

Pouches are a fucking rip off.

Takes three of them to make one average sized dip.

Skoal Mint Long Cut all the way

Marlboro Mediums (Called 'Red Label' now because Medium somehow insinuates cigarettes are healthy)

Slightly less hard than reds, smooth, the best cigarette.

I mostly quit smoking but Camel Wides and the American Spirit blue pack are good occasionally.

The American spirit pre rolls are packed tightly and hard to hit... but if you buy the loose tobacco and pack your own they are fantastic. I don't want to go back down that road though so I'll just buy a pack once every couple of weeks.

What brand?

Every tin of pouches I ever tried weighed less than loose.
Got to suck on them to get any taste,  keep moving them around all the time.  If you don't like tobacco in your mouth you shouldn't be dipping.

for example:  Skoal mint long cut= 1.2oz,  skoal mint pouches=0.82oz

There's smaller ones too.

They call them bandits for a reason I think.

I really like Grizzly in wintergreen and the premium (don't know what it's actually called, red or orange-colored I think).  It's a nice break from smoking on occasion.  I don't think I'll ever trade dipping for smoking though.

I went to school out in redneck land, I always wondered why kids with braces would bust out a fat pinch and look like they took a massive bite of mulch with Grizzly stuck in their metal gear.  Seems like pouches would be a more logical choice in that situation.

A guy walks into a bar, sits down next to another guy and immediately notices the guy has a very large Bic cigarette lighter.

The first guy says "Wow, that's a huge lighter...where did you get it?"
The guy replies "A genie from this bottle granted me one wish."

"Great, can I try it?"
"Sure."

The first guy rubs the bottle and the genie appears. "You are granted one wish" says the genie.

The guy says, "I want a million bucks!"
"Done" says the genie and disappears.

A few minutes go by and suddenly the bar door swings open and pouring in come ducks. Thousands and thousands of ducks falling all over each other through the bar door.

"I can't believe this," says the guy who had just placed his wish, "I asked for a million bucks, not a million ducks!"

The second guy then says, "Do you really think I wished for a 12 inch Bic?"

Spirit blues are my go too smokes.  I pull the filter out and rip a third off it and replace.  Gives a better drag/burn.

You're not packing the pack are you? You should not pack American Spirits. They are already twice the density of pretty much any domestic pre-rolled. No need to further pack the smokes, the Santa Fe Tobacco Company's literature even says so. All I can smoke anymore are Spirits. The organic tobacco specifically, used to smoke the medium(turquoise?) but then read the literature on phosphate vs organic fertilized crop so now the it's the organic lights, gold stripe pack, hahaaa. Spirits are my heavy preference or rolling tobacco of some sort from Bugler to balishag  You don't get as good of a deal on the bugler since the latest tacks so it's not worth it. The Spirit rolling tobacco is decent too and the pouches are generously packed like their smoeks. I think rolling leads to more smoking.

Almost all other domestic brands are garbage, the fanciest camels and marb lights(which are called smooths now?)being some of the most additive laden of them all. Seriously, do you noitce that bitter taste on your lips and tongue after a couple of these things? That's not from tobacco, lol. Or that film on the back of your throat? I swear I am not making this shit up. I might still go for a camel wide but i'd regret it after. The things seriously taste filthy, go buy a pack of additive free, preferably organic if you don't believe it. At first you will not like the additive free but once you get used to it you'll probably gag at the thought of a turkish royale or whatever. That may be months or years later. Or you'll have quit smoking by then, that's possibly the better outcome, but if not, and you stick it out with cigarettes rolled from tobacco, instead of additive dipped sheets of tobacco plant material grown out on radioactive fertilizer, you'll be glad you read that post on the internet about it, Or maybe you'd forget all about it but the information was of no real consequence to you whatever way you went. Or maybe Dorian Gray will come and take all of our aging away, he's around here now somewhere, I saw him.

I haven't smoked a lot of smokes the world over, just a whole lot of awful domestics and I gotta say Spirits, the Winston additive free ones maybe, or any small brand additive free/organic tobacco are heavily preferable. Other than that I've had a Dunhill and players, from UK and a few Canadian brands, Export A's, all those are better than popular US cigs. You'll probably smoke less with additive free too. I do for sure, 2-3 day on average, gold stripe pack spirits vs 8-10 or more of any other PM or RJ Reynolds I've smoked in the past. The cost of a pack of american spirits is more but you actually get a better value because they burn almost twice as long and taste and smoke far better.
