Clever, but you need to actually have that exact dresser.
Poorboy can't go ahead and modify his dresser to work like that.

In addition, that idea is somewhat invalid. If you look at the front picture in comparison to the side view, you will see that the "hidden compartment" is in where the top drawer SHOULD be, and thus, the top drawer will be "fake" and won't pull out. Even a 1-night-over guest in your home would notice something was up if they tried to open the top drawer.

any dresser including that cheap one he has can be modified for a secret
space in the back, as was mentioned with taping something to the back of a
drawer, most have space behind the drawer and with a false back it can be
made to accommodate at least a small space, then even if the drawers are
pulled out, no one will see the stuff

the built up top isnt uncommon on some styles of furniture and the drawer
doesnt have to be more than a few inches tall and 6-7 inches deep

many empire and french country pieces lend themselves to this kind of
construction because of the wasted space inside.

Queen Anne and Chippendale are another style that can be made with several
hidden areas

the ultimate would be a Tansu chest

If a cop was serving a warrant and couldn't open a drawer, he wouldn't say "I guess it's stuck. I'm sure there are no drugs in here". He would examine it more closely and eventually find the hidden compartment.

there's a lot of furniture with false drawers, things with knobs that dont
open. a concealed drawer wouldnt have a knob that's visible

even if i were to explain to them that small children do come by and i have all papers needed for the gun itself?

the hole is for emergencies anyway that and so its out of plan site and easy to access. kinda like a furniture hold.

that's the thing, a shoe box in the top of the closet is accessible more so
than having to patch a wall a dozen times because you'll want to take it out
and maintain it otherwise you'll have a rusty piece of crap inside your wall

if you want it SAFE and ACCESSIBLE... get a safe

Just wanted to point out that biometric safes aren't proven to work with blood on the fingertips.  I know it's the extra-rare situation that you'd have to use the safe in an emergency and likely even more rare that you'd have blood on your hands but what if...

notice the buttons. you can enter a code as well, if that's not enough, there's a key

1. all will be legal
2. there is no reason for my shit to be raided
3. this little number lists dont seem as cool when its from 1. to 2.

I'm working on the assumption you just want it someplace secure or at least concealed

Meh, I think the ones with just a number pad are the best bet.  Simple, reliable, and safe just like a good gun.

4 buttons = simple
11 buttons = complicated
1 non bloody finger = really simple

theres got to be a way. ive patched so many holes in walls. im sure i could follow the same procedure.

if a search warrant were served one of the things cops would look for are
patches. they're always obvious and as I stated it, it makes the gun
inaccessible if there were a situation where it would be needed

Yeah, but how bad-ass would it be to punch a hole in the wall and pull out a gun.

It'd be funny as hell... if he missed the precut hole, hit a stud and broke his hand.

The criminal would die laughing. Mission accomplished.

so this is what im going to do with that dresser...

between the top drawer and the top base of the dresser is a 3-4 inch gap with one slanted support board going through the middle. this will allow me enough space to add another board underneath, over the top drawer and under the base. constructing this will leave me a nice hiding spot for the gun.

now, to get to the gun...

im going to completely remove the top base and re attach it, but this go around its going to have a latch on the back side allowing it to move at a 90 degree angle. im also going to look into lock options as far as keeping the base locked into the dresser itself.

not sure if im explaining this well, but im sure you get the idea.

if all this works out i will have a well hidden gun that will be easy to access and away from all.

some fuckers barged into my brother's home, demanded the keys to his
truck, he knew one of them, the one threatening to shoot him he didnt
know. the fucker told him to sit in a char so he could tie him up and my
brother said "shoot me mother fucker, I'm not giving you shit, you wanna
tie me up, kill me because I'm not letting you do it. you kill me and
you've just stepped into a new realm from home invasion and car jacking to
murder, the cops will certainly be looking for you then but dont worry
about the cops because they'll never find your bodies, when my brother
catches you, your deaths will not be easy"

the one my brother knew got scare and bolted, the other figured out it was
going be be a hell of a fight on his hands when he hit my brother with the
pistol and he didnt go down so he decided to leave too.

so like luvdemshrooms said... you dont need a gun

I used to keep my 380 under my pillow when I went to bed. Otherwise it was in plain site always and loaded, but this was back when I was dealing meth. :paranoid:  If sketchy people or children came over, it was on my person. Now a days my 9mm is secure in a safe, and I sold the 380 ,  and except for practice I never had to use either . . . :peace:
