hidden wall compartment help (i know what im going to do)

in the next couple weeks i want to build a hidden wall compartment. some what like a safe, but more like a cubby in the wall thats hidden. im also thinking about a push spring lock. i want to build one in the bedroom and the living room and this compartment will be to house a gun.

heh heh.

anyone care to assist me in this project? all i can offer is a thanks and a good rating.

(i know i could google, but wheres the fun in that?)

unless you have intricate wood paneling you cant effectively hide a gun in
the walls without it being difficult to access, furniture is the way to go
I have a dresser with concealed drawers

im sure there are ways. i really dont have any furniture that could house something of that nature. i also have kids over, my chicks family, and the compartment would need to be a little higher.

theres got to be a way. ive patched so many holes in walls. im sure i could follow the same procedure.

Just hide it in the trim above a doorway. I knew a guy who got arrested with a search warrant for his apartment, bailed out weeks later, broke back into the apartment and got his gun / bullets / adderal.

Biggest trick is to hide things that a dog can find (weed/pipes/coke) away from things a dog can't find (guns/pills/ids) Also, hide shit as far off the ground as possible, because dogs are short, and even they can smell something up high, they might not be able to communicate that to their handler.

if a search warrant were served one of the things cops would look for are
patches. they're always obvious and as I stated it, it makes the gun
inaccessible if there were a situation where it would be needed

even if i were to explain to them that small children do come by and i have all papers needed for the gun itself?

i wouldnt have cops banging or busting down my door anyway. im not doing anything illegal. besides a little smoking of the bud, but i really dont think im going to have dogs over for that.

the hole is for emergencies anyway that and so its out of plan site and easy to access. kinda like a furniture hold.

also, if cops ever did kick down or search my shit i would let them know about the hole immediately and show all papers and explain that its protection from the nephews and nieces.

that's the thing, a shoe box in the top of the closet is accessible more so
than having to patch a wall a dozen times because you'll want to take it out
and maintain it otherwise you'll have a rusty piece of crap inside your wall

if you want it SAFE and ACCESSIBLE... get a safe

Here's a few tips:

1) Put a hole in the wall

2) Put the safe in the hole

3) Cover the hole with drywall

4) Put an axe on the wall with the message: In case of an emergency, destroy the wall to reveal the secret compartment

Yeah. They're badass, but way too bulky.



Here are two ideas... zip open a couch cushion and dig/cut through whatever is inside so you can put the gun directly in the middle. If you need to cut it, and are worried somebody might go as far as to zip open your couch cushions, then pull out the stuffing, cut it open, and put it in backwards.



In addition, you could take apart an electrical outlet, and put the gun in there. In order for it to fit though, it would have to be taken apart into several pieces.



Another idea, put a wall safe in the FLOOR, under a carpet. Bonus if the carpet is under a table or even better, a bed.



If you have some kind of large house, owned by you and with like 3 bedrooms, you could hide the door of one of the rooms, and just have a hidden room to put everything in. There are online guides on how to make a door hidden. I'm sure you could go to a further extent (e.g. bookcases) to make sure it would stay hidden to anybody as long as they aren't going about your house with it's blueprints in their hands.



Also, putting it inside a stereo system or TV will keep it hidden from all but a SWAT team who takes you as seriously as Osama Bin Laden.


Not to mention cutting open a book (already on your shelf, something that won't stand out like a giant fucking cookbook) with a xacto blade.
