Still sounds kinda fishy though.  Anytime there's a shift in privacy policy in this country, whether it be a government or private agency, it usually goes in the direction of "less" privacy.

Also right after ACTA was signed (I think).

And im pretty sure SOPA and PIPA aren't shit compared to ACTA but I dont really know.

but back to the topic. I think its ridiculous google can just admit they aren't giving any privacy and people don't care. I mean yes, they had no privacy before really, but now its like google is shoving it in your face and people still dont care.
