arguments for and against evolution
    #15688487 -

I am not going to suggest anything before hand but I would like to hear your opinions either for or against evolution. I will try to keep my mouth shut and just listen to what the community has to say on this subject. If you are going to make a statement please post your sources of said information.  Let the fun begin!

If that is the case then why does only something like 38% of the US population believe in evolution?

So 62% of the united states population doesn't believe in empirical evidence?

Idk man why the fuck do we have so many other problems in this country? I don't exactly think  the fact that the majority of Americans support something makes it right.

Dont the majority support the drug war? Isn't that a terribly flawed policy?

I think those are skewed statistics. At least in my experience, most people in my daily interactions believe in evolution. The majority of people by a long shot.

I think it has to do with a lack of education because about 70% of post-graduates believe in the theory. I think it also has to do with the American people allowing so called "news" networks to spread misinformation.

I think it has a lot to do with where you live. I am guessing that you live either in California or the east coast. I bet if we lived in Texas, South Carolina, or Florida we would have a different opinion on the general consensus of what people believe.

LOL, when I was a kid growing up I asked my grandma the same question and she told me that when the flood happened one of Noah's sons sinned in some way and god cursed him by turning him black. So black = sin in my grandmas opinion.

For evoluton - a very  viable source of informtion of how we can to be what we are today. Lots of legtimate evidence to show that we were not made by 'god'.

Plus bible to me sounds like some lunatic was high and decided to write a story equaling the bible.

IMO the argument for evolution is a lot richer then against it. It seems Christians argument is just "because" with pretty much nothing to back it.

Every evolution argument I've ever had with a Catholic always ended with them claiming "faith".. faith is non-objective (a.k.a subjective) and therefor we are no longer having a logical argument. It's like two people trying to argue which band is better.. there is no objective way to measure it, it's completely subjective.

This was many years ago, and since then I have completely given up in arguing with religious people. My life has actually drastically improved and stress levels have gone way down when I just stopped giving a fuck about what other people believe..

except when it comes to politics, still working on getting over that
