lol morality does not come from the bible. It does not come from god. It is from nature, it is from common knowledge that life is valuable, and that is shouldn't be destroyed.

Some of the most offensive and immoral acts in the history of mankind have been committed in the name of God. So much for morals, eh?

You must first prove that morality is inherent in nature before passing Moral judgments about the bible.

Otherwise the stories of violence are just as nature intends.


Lions rape and murder each other? Do lions torture other other? Enslave other lions?

I am not passing moral judgment about the Bible, because I believe that the bible teaches a lot of really great things. I didn't get my idea of right and wrong from the bible. I got it from observation.

You are the one who is passing judgment on me because I do not believe that the Bible is the source of morality.


You my friend passed judgment on me. You claimed that i was Misguided, as if i blindly follow something i know is wrong.

Rape occurs frequently in nature. Man does torture, that is against the law, at least in my understanding, that God has written in our hearts. Man is flawed. We are capable of things animals could never do. But if you really wanna tally up the death tolls between God Fearing people and atheistic Anti-God regimes, we can do that all day. Doesn't change a thing.

I contend that all the atrocities committed by the catholic church are contrary to the teachings of Christ who instructed us to love one another, and love our enemies.

But again it you wanna whip our dicks out and compare death tolls it would still not disprove God's word, only that man is quite willing to kill for power.

Besides how would we have progressed as a species if Daddy never quit wiping our asses.

So please explain to me why a god who supposedly loves his creations (as all human beings supposedly are) willingly lets thousands of children starve to death every day?

If he is real, then god is one of the most sadistic, twisted motherfuckers ever. Worse than hitler.

I'm not judging your character though. Saying you are misguided does not mean I think any less of you as a person, simply that I believe you are believing a lie. That is not judgment.

Well again i contend that without God, there is no Real objective morality, therefore no evil good or bad. Therefore all of bad shit in the world is just a Sad Fact of our accidental existence. Furthermore, these is simply nature's way of progressing the species.

But, as you now know, i dont believe that. Biblically  speaking, God's actions are accountable only to God, for he defines Goodness. Therefore anything he allows is by his nature for a greater purpose. In the bible all things seen as questionable had an ultimate Goal in mind. In the Old testament, the goal was to bring the Israelites to the Chosen lands. Anyone hampering their Progress were dealt with. In many cases Killings were commanded in defense of the Israelites.

Either way, it is only for God to know what must occur to reach the maximum amount of people. He, by definition is outside of time. Seeing time from beginning to end. Seeing all avenues and their destinations. So who are we to question what he does and doesn't allow?

Even all this said, i believe that the choice made for us to seek knowledge instead of the tree of life leaves us with limited intervention.

Perhaps God, giving us Free Will expects us to feed the hungry, stop the religious and political oppression, stop the atrocities.

After all mankind chose to seek knowledge rather than take the offer of easy living. Im not sure eating the forbidden fruit was the wrong choice. After all, i see the greatness man has achieved. Im sure God saw it back then. I also see our inability to Get along.

Now if we could only quit killing each other for a little while, we might find we all can live in peace. As Christ taught.

You typing that and putting it out there for the world to read is some of that warm and loving light in itself :sun: It lit me up a bit at least.

And the other awesome thing is that WE.....every one of us..... have the POWER within ourselves to spread as much light as we want. As much light as we're willing to.

Since the world is so dark, instead of getting all depressed about it and adding even more darkness.... why not make it your goal to spread as much light as you can? If the world is dark, LIGHT IT UP! :smile2: What about that!?!?

The reason it's so dark is because we as human beings are failing in big ways to spread light. It's every person's job on this planet to spread as much light as possible. If you're not spreading much light, then you're contributing to the darkness.

Plus, you're just missing out. Cause being devoted to spreading light into the world is an amazing way to spend an existence.

Hopefully I spread a little light by writing this.
