Monster products are all over rated and over priced. I have listened to them, and in my opinion they don't compare at all with better companies (Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Audio Technica, etc.).

I have owned the Dr Dre Pro Beats for almost a year. They have their pros and cons but I'm selling them and buying some Senns or another good pair of headphones. The good thing about beats is they are made with steel and built really solid. I have got drunk and head banged them straight to the floor as hard as I could of on accident atleast a half dozen times and they bounce, roll but never break. I'm pretty amazed tbh with their durability. Now why you should stay away from beats. One beats is no longer made by monster as of last week. Monster IMO is why the beats are doing so well. The customer serivice is top notch and for the most part so are their products. Just because beat headphones and speakers don't have the clearest quality. Doesn't mean they aren't built well. So in the coming months when monster releases their own high quality head phones that are 1/4th the price (yet probally just as good if not better) that's worth checking out.

Final note about the beats by dre is they have an absurd ammount of bass. Its great for hiphop and electronica or dubstep. Can be a real pain in the ass with other genres with out a lot of bass because it muddys the EQ of the headphones. The bass will deteriate the EQ over time also. My headphones sound way more muddy then they did when I first bought them. Idk maybe the EQ didn't deteriorate over the bass and it was just my ear drums. I'm telling you I hear half as good as I did before I bought my beats. If I worse these for another few years like I have this year. Id need a hearing aide with out doubt.

Get a pair of Sennheiser, Shure or Audiotechnica headphones. There are other good headphones out there too. The Germans make awesome audio gear. In fact, Germans make awesome quality anything (apart from humour! =P )

Yeah, when I got my iPhone it came with a pair of headphones. I put them in to see how the quality was (I knew they'd be bad) but they were fucking terrible. I couldn't hear half the song I had playing and I through them straight in the bin. I bought a pair of Shure in ear headphones which cost me $300 and people think I'm crazy but they will last for years and let me listen to all the sounds as opposed to shitty tinny sounding mid-range freqs only.

I don't understand people who spend so much on iPods etc and then use the shittiest headphones. If they're gonna hand over so much money for a iPod etc then at least buy some decent headphones.

They're too expensive in my opinion. Skullcandy.com has lots of good headphones for half the price. They have a lifetime warranty. I doubt the sound quality difference between them and dre beats is very noticeable at all

Please for the love of god don't buy Beats of Skullcandy. Head over to www.headfi.org, read around a bit, and find a better way to invest your money.

Edit: The point here isn't that Skullcandy or Beats are BAD (but they are), because I know plenty of people are happy with the headphones they have, it's that you can find much better headphones for less money. Same thing with Bose equipment. I don't know why people get so offended when someone tells them their cans aren't the best around, but it's the truth.

I have those exact headphones. I got em for 20 dollars though so i cant really say if its worth it. For me i love them, they got a good frequency range, are comfortable and not too heavy. They aren't bad at all. Mind you i havent had the good fortune to try a better pair, and im sure i would be blown outta the water.
