 Playing Ultima Online for free

0- goto http://archeronne.tcpgaming.net/join.html and make an account for free (Should be activated within a day)
1- Install Ultima Online.
2- Run Ultima and let it patch ya up.... Exit out after it
3- goto www.uogateway.com and download the latest version of it.
4- open up UOGATEWAY and goto settings and redownload public server list
5- Find archeronne and double click it (if it doesnt open goto MY SERVERS and it should be there)
6- A new window should pop up.. type in account name and pass.. then Create character and have fun!
PM me with any questions on here.
OPTIONAL - goto www.uoam.net and download uo automap, it really really helps.

Wow! makes me wish I had a Windows machine so I could do it. Sadly, I don't think they support Mac users... 
I've wanted to play UO for some time now, that and the new Star Wars Galaxies when it gets out of beta -- I may buy a PC when that happens though, just to play it...

yeah ne of my a couple of my friends use to play that game. they played before i met them but they talked about it one night for like 3 hours. and after hearing them for that long i still had no idead what they were talking about

It is a good game but WAY too addictive, I'd say I had ever symtom of heroin addict while playing it. But finally I quit I wont go back lol. Plus it got really shitty after EA made some changes.

Yes, there are lots of free, player run shards out there! Mytharria is one of the best ones for roleplayers.

Yeah you still have to buy it (unless you can find a place to download it... but be sure to download ultima ONLINE).
You can buy the new version (Age of Shadows) For like 30 bucks... and older ones for like 15.... almost any version of ultima ONLINE will work, even though the newer one has better looking monsters and stuff.

Easily the most addictive never-ending activity I have ever been into. I couldn't believe how into this game I got. I used to look forward to weekends when I could play for like 16 hours straight. It was hella fun, and I met some cool people while playing it. It's like a game but also a huge chat room. I dunno, I got kicked off for macroing too many times. At the time I was devastated, but I doubt I would have EVER got laid if I kept playing that game. This was all back in like 98-99. Anyways, have fun with it, but it takes alot of time to build a character up so it's any fun.

I know lol. It ruins your life. I highly advise everyone not to play. Ultima is a legal drug! And more dangerious and addictive than others. Letting people pay for free is horrible! You're a drug dealler in my eyes!

I was just informed there is an Ultima Thread, uosecondage.com is a completely era accurate replica(98-99) of the original OSI servers, totally free to play free to d/l, no trammel, no neons, all era accurate hues, complete with theives, PKs and everything that comes with them!

Wow epic bump!!! I have a feeling this thread will fall extremely fast so I'll get my 2 cents in. I still play on a free shard called hybrid, its a mix of all the best parts of the game over time but its mostly old school, no tram, theres custom server events like capture the flag sometimes and theres even a mini-game where you can go play texas hold em against other players and get rich or lose all your gold. Heres the site http://www.uogamers.com/ If anyone plays or starts to play PM me, I can help you start out.

lol @ super neon pixel crack and purple potion chains, the reason it has al those mini games is because field pvp in sosaria is such a joke they need that to keep people logged in.
For anyone who wants to start playing UO again, hybrid is full of a bunch of whiny 13 year olds high on aderol, UOSA is where all the old-school vets who like to play REAL UO go.
