New Timothy Leary cd coming out

I happy to announce that there will be a new Timothy Leary cd coming out April 8th entitled  The Psychedelic Experience Manual Based on the Tibetan Book Of The Dead. If you click the title, you can reserve one right now.

I'm psyched to have this cd in my hands. I have a feeling it's going to be really good. I've never read the book of the same name that he and Richard Alpert wrote, so it'll be a nice surprise. I believe that this album was once available on LP. Thank God they've decided to put it on compact disk.

You should get

1)  "You Can Be Anyone This Time Around"

2)  "Turn On Tune In Drop Out(Soundtrack)"

3)  "Beyond Life with Timothy Leary"(I haven't heard this whole cd, but what i've heard is good, especially the Allen Ginsberg track)

Someone is sending me Leary's cd titled "LSD" pretty soon. I'll do a review on it once I hear it.

It's strange but although the book is credited to leary, metzner and alpert, old Ram flatly denies having been involved with that book. I think he said he was credited because he was around (millbrook) at the time.

That?s funny. I?ve heard Metzner and Alpert thought that they didn?t recieve enough credit for the book.

I can?t wait to hear this cd though. Hopefully the whole gang will be involved. I?m sure it?s probably a re-issue of the record that came out in the sixties, which I haven?t heard.

Not only is the new Leary cd coming out in April, but amazon.com has lowered their price for Leary's 1966 spoken word album "LSD".

It's an imported cd that amazon used to charge $35.00 for. It's now down to $18.00. If someone weren't already sending me a copy of this cd, i'd buy it. I didn't think i'd ever find one for less than $35.00.

Well I finally got my copy of  "The Psychedelic Experience: Based on The Tibetan Book of the Dead".

It's a very good cd. It's got two tracks. One of them instructs you during your come up and one for you come down.

Leary is obviously the main speaker on the cd, but Ralph Metzner and possibly Richard Alpert(Ram Das) contribute as well. I know Metzners voice, but not Alperts, so I can't say for sure. It only makes sense though, because all three contributed to the book and all three are pictured on the inside of the booklet. The booklet is slick and has lots of information about what Leary and company were trying to do at the time.

The trip that you're being instructed on is a level 5 trip. It's all about leaving your ego behind and whatnot.

I'd definitely trip to this cd. Good stuff. BTW, this is the re-issue of the 1966 LP of the same name.

Thanks for the info Learyfan, I really liked the book and I think this CD would be great for when I decide to take a 'heroic' trip so I ordered it. :smile:

Good thing you got "Beyond Life...." for that price. It isn't worth much more. That's one of the worst Tim Leary cd's IMO. Most of it is remixes of "Turn On Tune In Drop Out(Soundtrack)". The only MUST HAVE track on that cd is the Allen Ginsberg track called "Tale Of The Tribe". I love that track.

Roger: Ram Dass was cited as helping write the book because he was the chef during most of the writing! :-D

And does anybody have any Leary LP's? I'd love to incorporate them into my live show, or do some new mixes... I'd be willing to do cash or trade for them. PM me.
