I'm not exclusively to blame for spreading inaccurate information (which i don't find all that inaccurate.) This article was shared by nearly all of my FB friends who attended high school with me and live/have lived in Harnett County. I'm not actively fear mongering dude. What I read upset me. That's the bottom line.

Also, I understand the overpopulation problem in shelters and such, but there are solutions, granted they actually require some initiative, such as a statewide or nationwide database of animals up for adoption, etc, etc.

people looking to adopt animals rarely travel past the local animal shelters
or the news papers, a national database would be pointless and waste even
more resources... not as though people arent doing this already though and it
hasnt curbed the problem

dont puppies grow up to be dogs?

did anyone read this thread where the original post was shown to be wrong and
that they're simply looking for other options like rescues for these maligned
breeds and that those they cant push off will meet the same fate as any other
dog that cant be adopted out

History has shown that it's impossible to educate large numbers of people oh how to care for anything properly, particularly children. I look at this situation the same way. Many parents are not suited to be parents. We don't kill children for the shortcomings of the parents. Screening owners is a good idea, but what about dogs purchased off the record? There aren't many easy solutions, but killing the puppies before they have a chance to be a "good" dog or a "bad" dog isn't the appropriate option IMO. In short what i'm getting at is the fact that a vicious dog is the fault of the owner, not the breed. My husky is a prime example. She's the sweetest dog i've ever known, period, and everyone who meets her agrees. She's never attacked ANYTHING. She had a chance to finish off a squirrel that I hit with my slingshot and all she did was try and help it. The breed doesn't determine the dog's good or bad behavior at all, so killing them (puppy or adult) isn't going to do any good.
