Useless hunt... But I think I know why!
    #1535125 -

I was mainly looking for Gymnopilus aeruginosus. I was looking in a large wooded area in my home town. It was very humid that day, and it has been raining for the past 4 days off and on. I thought their would be lots of fungus all over the place. But to no avail, I did not find 1 mushroom the entire 45 minutes I was in the woods. I think it was because the entire ground of the woods was thick with leaves. Could this be the problem, or am I just not looking right? This was my first hunt, and I did not find jack shit.

Was this your first rain in months or what?

If its the first rain that you had in the season, or first rain within the past month or so, you'll need a nice heavy rain, or consistent storm for a few days. This water has to penetrate through the humus, and into the forest floor. The humidity and cooler temperatures will promote growth.

Depends on where you are too though... Increased temperatures in the south will promote growth. Where I am, I need cooler

I'm somewhere in pennsylvania. I'll probably check back in a week or two, but could leaves covering every inch of this forrest be the cause to no shrooms?

Nah, I don't think so at all Dank- I mean, its not like the leaves push the mush back down. I think your main problem for not finding Anything is simply- your not in the right place for them.

It was a huge ammount of woods, miles. It was humid, about 78 degrees, and drizziling. And it rained the day before. I found some mushrooms in my flower bed a few days ago. I'll just check a different area of woods. There's woods all around here.

In my area (West Virginia) I seem to have less luck on leaf-covered ground. This may be because they blend in visually a little better, and its harder to see them. Two years ago, just when I made up my mind that they don't grow on leaf-clutter, I found a huge patch on nothing but leaves. Its also a bit early in the season. So far my picks have been sparse, but what with the rain, I think the next few days will be marvelous.
