interesting ting i just noticed when i went to the range today. the gun def. shoots a little to the left with the factory sights. at first i thought it might be the way i was holding it or pulling the trigger but i shot it from the bench rested on a sweatshirt as stable as possible all day as did my friend. we both had to aim slightly to the left of the center of the black circle on the target to get our groupings entirely in the black close to center. otherwise our shots would be grouped towards the left.

No help on the optice but I love my marlin 995.
Basically an older version of that.

I do need to get it to a friend cause it jams once and a while. Needs a little work, I just don't have the

Just fired of 14 rounds, looking for the rest of the shells.

I've got a little marlin carbine with a tube mag that goes in the butt, it's a great little plinker

i don't believe the tech sights require any machining. i think you just slide the rear sight onto the 795's dovetail and screw the front sights into the holes already there for the stock sights.

the rail for the red dot might require a little machining but that shouldn't cost too much to get done professionally

Oh the tube feeds are nice.

I wish mine hade a few more rounds that could fit into it. I do need a scope for it as mine is pretty much a bb gun scope. So yeah I will be finding something for it.

Can't wait till my bow shows up. Next year that buck is mine.

does anyone know the what the proper way a gunsmith would permanently attach the dovetail to Weaver adapter i mentioned to my rifle would be. would they just drill out one hole in the receiver of the rifle to match up with the existing hole/screw on the top of the adapter, or would the have to drill out more holes in the rail and receiver to get a tighter fit?

it depends on the gunsmith, most will shim it and use existing holes if you're concerned about cosmetics

im more concerned with functionality, if it works fine without havinh, to drill any holes i'd rather not but if i do, i want it to be as sturdy as possible.

so i decided that the red dot was a little bit to unnecessary for this gun and i didn't wanna buy iron sights that cost about half as much as the gun itself so i decided to put a cheap Simmons 4X32 22 mag rimfire scope on it. it was cheap (prices at around 40 or 50 bucks) and they didnt have any in stock in the store except the floor model so i got that one at a discount. here's what it looks like now

once i got it dialed in it was shooting very accurately, i like the scope alot it makes the gun more fun to shoot.

the only other thing i want to add to this rifle is a bipod but im not sure which to get. i was thinking about the small harris one but they can be a little pricey (although most likely worth it. any suggestions on good, relatively inexpensive bipods that would fit the slug stud on my 795
