Psilocybin itself could be considered a defensive mechanism as well.


Precisely, secondary compounds poison certain species that ingest them. And, provided the species survives, serves as a deterrent from eating the plant, animal, or fungi again. The fact that humans have the luxury of enjoying Psilocybin does not make it any less of a poison.

Yeah, when people talk about 'cracking their backs and tripping,', in my head I just think "okay I lost a lot of respect for you and your opinions now, seeing as you'd blatently lie to my face about this..." but I usually just nod and try to change the subject.

^I have a feeling those back-crack things are from people that are HIGHLY suggestive (you know the ones that can undergo hypnosis like nothing)

Or just retarded people who just say waht other people have told them. Someone should look up how many times we unintentionally crack our backs on a daily basis, then look at how much of the LSD is excreted, then how much is left in the body 40hr later.
