I would put the exhaust hole on the opposite side of your container about an inch above the perlite. co2 sinks, so you want the hole low.

If you bubble the air thru a container of water it should humidify the incomming air sufficiently.

You will need some type of exhaust.

I was advised that several air exchanges an hour were optimal, thus I run my air pump 24*7. However I don't know if this does much as one would typically only fan a terrarium out about twice a day.. 24*7 works for me :wink:
