I love a good festival. There's no other feeling like being able to kick it with completely random people for half an hour or so, smoke a joint with 'em, learn a little about them, exchange a few stories about their experience at the festival or just life in general, and then move on to the next stage or party.

Bear Creek Nov 10-13 is the headiest of the fest! Trey Anastasio Band headlining can't get much better!

I went to 1 day of Mountain Jam and 1 day of Gathering of the Vibes this summer.. the rest of my money went towards 6 phish shows and 4 furthur shows (including the Vibes one)

Even though I am a rather shy and introverted dude, my favorite aspect of festivals & gatherings is probably the people :yesnod: ...So many awesomely beautiful like minded peoples I cross paths with.

I've been to festivals north south east and west..

Music is my favorite part of life. :bigblunt:


Actually, its right after family and friends and people , but right before food and drugs.

michigan

colorado

washington

california

arkansas

pennsylvania

in no particular order

and i hope to add as many more states as I can

This will be my 4th BC! 2008 it was my first real festy experience and I've been hooked ever since. It's hard to find fests that are at such an incredible level of headiness as Bear Creek!

I'd hardly say that Trey's band is headlining. They kind of tacked them on after all the major acts were already announced. The real headliners this year are Scofield, MMW, The Meters, Karl Denson... and of course fucking LETTUCE is gonna rage face as always! I've never seen phish, and am not very interested in doing so, but I am curious about Trey's band.

I've found that fests that get any larger than BC are just too big. I've always had the best times as small events. A few hundred to a few thousand, just a handful of stages. Real intimate like, ya know?

I was at EFF this year, and had a great time, but honestly the shit was just way too big. I missed like all the bands I really wanted to see, my friends and I kept getting split up, etc. Shit just gets way too hectic, and kinda scary/depressing sometimes. Huge crowds always attract at least a few shitty people too. Not to mention how expensive the whole trip was.

Went to ID in Tampa it was my first festival and so amazing! Rolled balls to Aoki and snuck into the pit for Kaskade.. just incredible. Going to Blackwater as well should be sweet

I would hardly call ID a real fest, I went, saw Bookashade and DJ Shadow for the first tiIme pretty dope! But Blackwater and Bear Creek and with out a doubt going to blow that out of the water. I'll prob hit Voodoo for Halloween and catch the TOUBAB KREWE while in New Orleans on Oct 28. Should be a rad Halloween show.

There are three festivals I try to go to every year.  One is the Oregon Country Fair, which isn't strictly a music festival, but more of a hippie gathering where all the freaks come out and express themselves.  Then there's Emerg n See, which I didn't go to this year because the usual venue was shut down, plus I had other plans.  Then there's Beloved, a sacred art and music festival where they have all kinds of world music, sacred chanting, as well as electronic music.

Didn't really go to any festivals this year.  Started the year off by flying to hawaii to see tool.  saw deftones in denver and san fran, saw primus and flaming lips perform darkside of the moon at red rocks.  going to ID fest at the gorge, then another show on 10/29 - primus' halloween show in Berkeley at the greek.  it's been a wonderful year.  i left out a bunch of shows though.  none of these were really festivals imo.

Blackwater Music Festival at Suwannee Park is going to be a fest not to miss. 3 weeks away heck yes!! September 22-24, 2011. I'm really stoked to see Ghostland again!
