Opeth - a must listen

Opeth is a Swedish progressive death metal band.  Their influences include bands such as Dream Theater and Yes (progressive rock band form the 60's).  Though there music is death metal and includes death growls and is quite heavy at times, the majority of their music is just beautiful progressive rock.  Some of their acoustic hits include Windowpane, A Fair Judgement, and The Devil's Orchard.  I love listening to them while tripping.  Anyone else love this band as much as me? If not, go look em up on youtube and tell me what you think!

blah, late swedish death metal.

check out Carnage, Bloodbath and Paganizer, if you haven't already.

Extol jams too but they're a christian band, so meh.

Those bands are more about heaviness and pure death metal.  Opeth is death metal with progressive rock, acoustic, and experimental elements.

I KNOW haha, I went to their 20th Anniversary Concert in NYC at Terminal 5 in 2010, saw em in 2008 too, so fucking good live.  Mikael Akerfeldt's a pure genius in my opinion.

I totally feel for ya man. Opeth hits home. I love their music so much and it means so much to me.

I wish I was around more people who loved and shared a passion for Opeth. They're one of the best. (For me at least)
