Why are people so offended by eating supposed waste products of an animal when they are eating the muscle tissue from the same animal?  WTF IS THE DIFFERENCE?!  The definition of hypocrisy.

I dunno. I mean I'm not one of the people who won't eat those products. But I admit I'd much rather eat the good cut of meat than the scraps and tendons and eyeballs and intestines ground up into a paste ('mechanically separated chicken'). But I guess it's better that they make use of this meat than waste it (of course it is)

These days I'm leaning towards being a vegetarian anyway.

One ground up animal product I love is italian sausage, that shit is so delicious. Not big on all sausage though. Hot dogs meh I'll eat one a couple times a year drowned in condiments because I am hungry enough.

I know what you mean, my girl wont eat hotdogs after she wathced how they were made. Take her to a McDonalds and she goes right for a chicken sandwhich or nuggets though.

I haven't eaten a hot dog in about a year, I'm pretty much done with them.

You ever notice how you can eat like a million hot dogs (without buns) before you're full?  I'm convinced you pretty much only get filled up by the buns :lol:

nutriotnal content isnt what stops people from eating offal glad you used the term cuz i didn't think anyone knew it outside of chefs.  offal has protein and fat at least so what's it missing?

Tripe just looks so unappealing to me.


It's mostly about texture and quality of meat for me. Growing up in a mostly middle class and west coast diet I have never had to eat the stuff that other people had to to survive. So I have never had to eat organs and stuff that most people in my situation consider waste/byproduct/funky meat.

Also not a fan of liver. It has a weird taste, then again it was many moons ago since I had it. Tastes change after all.

Of course I do prefer a nice hot dog made out of quality meat over some oscer meyer dogs that is just compacted bologna. Taylor's Sausage FTW.
